I just bought sokme new components and whanted to run Mediaportal.
Currently i run 1.1 on XP without any problems...

My big problem is after installing RC2 and RC3 ob my new Vista box, i can get the Sleep to work.
It's a singel sat installation TVServer and Client running on the same machine.

Sleep seems only to work when no schedules are active.
Waking up to record anyting doesent seem to work, but maily because the machine never sleeps..

If no scheduled recordings are in the system, there is no problem i waking up, and retriving the EPG.

Sleep only works when i let the Mediaportal Timeout in the menu, i'm not able to get it into sleep by selecting the Sleep menu-item.

If anybody can help me it would be greatly apreciated.
I REALY would hate to use MCE.

Ok working on the principal you have TVServer plugins Powerscheduler\MP plugins Powerscheduler client both activated, you do not get standby, are both the plugins configured for suspend (default Stay On).

In TVS PS plugin, under the processes tab, delete those processes shown and see if things change for you

Ok just to make i compleatly clear for me..
Are you saying i Cant have bothe the TV-Server Powerscheduler and MP active at the same time?

Both TV and MP are set to suspend. 5Min
    TV has reinitialize Tuner
TV has in processes: SetupTv, Configuration
As you said i deleted the SetupTv, Configuration from the TV-Server

Sleep did still not work from the menue
Hibernate worked, but when i pressed a button on the keybord to wake it up i only godt a Black screen saying initializing Plugins.
In the tasklist also the SplashScreen was not responding.

I added the Logfiles if that might help to solve my problem.

Yes, but I run a full administrator account enabled version of Vista Ultimate as per here Make your Vista's admin account acts like in XP - Neowin Forums

And i love it when people say i have the same issues, does that mean, if left idle without mediaportal running, then after whatever delay you have set, you get no suspend\hibernate, or does it go into S\H and will not then wake up.

So you got your to work by changing it to full admin?
Because I still had no luck what so ever, turing it on for recordings or suspending it.

I had some result's using the MP Standby Tool...
But have no idea how to figure out what is going wrong...

No, i run the full admin account because of other issues i have had with Vista, ie not installing drivers correctly.

The only good thing about the MCEStandby tool, is it lets you easily disable wakeup devices, it has discovered, MPStandbyHandler is better for hardware driver issues, but should not be necessary for your system.

You have 2 ways to put machine to sleep, let it go from idle with the TVServer powerscheduler plugin or with MP GUI's shutdown\standby option (some skins do not fully support this).

BTW, if you test any local standby, make sure there is at least a 15 minute break betweeen standby and resume for your test recording.
