Hi,

I found a setting under "General" in the TV Server which allows the tuner card to initialise first before TV Server starts. It even specifically mention the Hauppauge Nova 500-T Tuner Card in the description which is what I have installed along with a PVR 5150 MCE dual analog tuner card. You can set a delay time. I set this to 20 seconds and set the wake up before recording in Powerscheduler to 120 seconds. This fixed MP crashing and a Window error I was getting previously. When I turned on the TV, I had the same screen before the machine went to S3 sleep which was a good sign.

Although this was an improvement from a complete crash on Windows Blue Sceen, the system still did not record - very frustrating.

Paranoid Delusion, surely you don't have to run the machine in Administrator mode to solve this problem? I have a user account setup in Vista which has Administrator rights - is that enough?

Interesting that you have had issues with driver installation without an Administrator A/c. I have seen forums that have mentioned the issue could be around driver installation, however this was around Windows issues and setting the tuner initialisation delay in TV Server has solved this issue.

Are there any other things we should try using the with the client and TV Server installation??

Regards

Graham

Hi Caveman,

Was just reading through the Forum which you initiated. You mention the black screen after waking the machine from sleep - I also got this and used the delay so that the Tuner Card could reinitialise before the TV Server started (see my previous post for details) and this solved the problem ...... but still no recording :-(.

Sounds like we have the same issue, doesn't it??

Cheers

Graham

Hi Caveman,

Just to let you kno, I have another thread with exactly the same issue running as follows:

Hi,

Did anybody have any luck with waking from sleep and recording since changing the General setting as mentioned above?

I'm still having issues recording after S3 sleep wakeup - can anybody advise anything? I'm pretty convinced that it has something to do with the tuner card being reinitialised, but I have tried all the settings in Powerscheduler and TV Server and still no luck.

I guess my next option is to update drivers on Motherboard, tuner card, video drivers etc and try that ..... but I cannot help thinking it's simply a setting.

Any help appreciated.

Graham

MPStandbyHandler is needed for resume issues, this allows for slow network connection or resume of TV drivers to be handled in a different way, you still need the "wait 20 seconds before tvserver finds tvcards" enabled, but generally the reinit tuners is no longer need as the TVServer is restarted on resume and the drivers have then loaded correctly.

    Hi Paranoid Delusion,

Would you mind dropping the URL for MPStandyHandler and does it run in conjunction with Powerscheduler? I came across MCE Standby Handler - is it the same thing you are talking about?

Would you mind forwarding me your settings please.

This S3 sleep issue really is doing my head in!!!

    Regards

Click on the link at the top left of the page called "View and request hotfix downloads". You just need to supply your email address and Microsoft will email you the patch.
