RC4: Channel switching problem (no new stream) (2 Viewers)

I recognized a problem after installing RC4 server over RC2. When switching channels it often takes very, very long until the stream starts (only if channels are not on the same transponder). And even then it is possible that the channel has not been changed but looking at the channel list, it shows that the new channel is active (yellow brick).

Example: I'm on MTV and try to switch to VIVA. It takes about 13 seconds until something happens. Then the screen blanks shortly and I still stay on MTV with timeshifting back to where it started. Hitting Enter the channel list shows VIVA being active although MTV is still streaming. Now when I timeshift to the end and switch to MTV and again to VIVA it takes about 8 seconds to switch but it is ok then.

Any ideas whats wrong here?

Looks like i am having the same problem with RC4.

I run this on a multiboot pc (MD 8808) where one partition runs RC3 without problems. The other partition is for testing purposes of all kinds of software.

I went into the same probem today and foudn the following error.log in the server. The timestamps point to the time the problem happend and MP crashed.

have you tried rescanning your channels? it was doing the same for me after upgrading to rc4 with both my atsc tuners. rescanned and now it changes in under a second.

Yes I did a rescan. It indeed switches within a second ... but only if the channels are on the same transponder. I have to check if the problem only occurs when switchign between transponders and/or satellites.
