Hello,

I am new to mediportal. I have tried rc3 wir mce remote und genuine ms ir usb adapter. s3 worked well with this release.

rc4 is disabling the power on the usb port in s3 standby. I have tried it 3 times with a clean windows setup, always the same problem. s3 is working until the install of rc4.

Is rc4 doing some registy changes or anything else that can cause this error? Anyone knows to fix this?

If you have +5vstb enabled on motherboard it will only power the main two usb port 0 and 1.
So you will need the receiver to be plugged in one of those.
If that does not work then the +5v standby needs to be enabled on motherboard by moving a jumper (read motherboard manual).

    Hello,
I'm not sure your problem is only mp fault.
I've had same problem, it was due to some updates from XP.
I've tried with an older version of xp, it's working fine with MP RC4.
Resume on S3 is OK now.

Here are my hardware details. I think it must be a MP issue , because without installing rc4 the standby s3 works without a problem.

In my last try I didn´t activate the remote during the first MP setup. Now it works, after enabling the remote later in the setup.

    well, now I'm sure.
    I confirm this bug.
New install from windows XP all windows update and with all latest drivers.
Motherboard P4C800 with all jumpers in +5vSB and wake on from usb enabled on the bios.
    Using USB-UIRT.
Before installing MP RC4 no SVN, wake up from S3 is OK.
When installing MP, first setup (with MCE remote checked or not, it's the same for me) and I do configuration, launch MP, exit MP, reboot then, standy on S3 never wake up.
I have tried several times with backup from ghost dos so, I'm really sure.
More : Before install of MP, I could resume from S3 by network (with magic packet wake on lan gui) after install, no wake up.
And no wake up with power button too.
It seems computer is deeply in sleep.
I must unplug/plug the PSU (wich is powered enough) for a new start.
    BR.

Can you enable hibernate in windows, you know right click empty area properties\screensaver\power\hibernate enable.
Then set powerscheduler with all options ticked again to hibernate and see if any difference.
Have been changing svn's every couple of days without this problem.
    Also use current svn.

    Thanks

Hello Paranoid Delusion and many thanks for your interest of this problem. :)

what I have tried now :
    windows hibernate enabled in properties\screensaver\power\hibernate
    reboot
RC4 no SVN with power scheduler disabled (I would like to use pvr-scheduler) :
    resume on S3
    Impossible to wake up
    power scheduler enabled with suspend
    resume on S3
    Impossible to wake up
    power scheduler enabled with hibernate
    hibernate
    Impossible to wake up
RC4 latest SVN from today :
    start.bat, configuration.exe and reboot
    with power scheduler disabled
    resume on S3
    Impossible to wake up
    power scheduler enabled with suspend
    resume on S3
    Impossible to wake up
    power scheduler enabled with hibernate
    hibernate
    Impossible to wake up

So, it appears this is not a power scheduler problem but, really a MP problem.
Maybe MP modify some windows registry and this could be the problem ?

My bios is OK, I have another computer with same motherboard and, I always use hibernate without problem.

I have found for it works !!!
In addition of windows hibernate enabled in properties\screensaver\power\hibernate, I must activate the hibernate with power button !!!
Now, the problem is that there is no resume on S3 and this is ennoying for wake up recording.

    BR.

No one found a solution yet? I installed rc4 again with xp sp2 without any patches like mentioned in one post.

But same thing happend again, after installing and the first reboot the usb ports have no power in s3 ....

I mean there must be some registry changes or am I wrong? And why is it happening only with rc4?
