RC4! TELE5 isnt working!!! Since rc2 everything seems to be worser and worser! (1 Viewer)

like in rc3 and all the svn`s. tele5(german tv) just isn t working. in rc2 it is working correctly. therefore i have downgraded to rc2 again. so i also have no logs. but this error with tele5 should be well known. or i am the only one who is watching german tv?! i don t think so.
so i can now honestly say, rc2 was the last correct working version of mediaportal.
elementary things, like tele5, wakeup for grabbing epg usw, aren t working since them and i can bet, that this elementary things are not working in rc4! i still have no explanation why further rls-candidates are worser then the good working old ones(rc2). this still dosn t goes in my little mind.
i can t work like this in a productive environment. elementary things have to work! if they dosn t work, don t bring a new rls-candidate out!
maybe i give rc4 another try if i am ready to get angry again about worser rls-candidates then the older ones.
for this evening i only wana watch tv.

It's a pity that you are experiencing problems, however do not generalize! Rc4 for many people is a huge improvement.

As for why bugs appear in RC4 that worked in RC2, well, programming is complicated!! It's not as simple as you would imagine.

Without logs do not assume there will be a fix, it's simply too much hard work for a small team!

well, at least I dont watch German tv The main problem here is that our team is really small, few people only and almost every single broadcaster is violating the DVB standards (or at least bending those) in some way and that causes many issues we dont spot.

...not that there wouldnt be any bugs in MP/TVE3

I would seriously consider trying different codecs, example, we have a few BBC Radio stations in the UK, that seem to be broadcasting some unusual mpeg stream, which for instance ffdshow's mp1\mp2 codec "libmad" does not like them along with the mpa, cyberlink and a few others, which just will not play these mpeg files.
Changing FFDShow to "libavcodec" or using AC3 filter with mpeg support enabled, allows these to be played.

If it's a cannot create graph, might well be something like above, only logs and graphstudio may tell

I'm watching German TV. Actually I never cared for Tele5. But right now, it works. Live TV, Timeshift, EPG data, recording.

I'm using RC4 but opted to keep my TV Database during setup. I think my TV database has been set up with RC3.....

Are you shure you are using the right channel settings for Tele5? Maybe they changed and your RC2 installation is the last to have the right parameters.

First of all: ALL German stations work absolutely fine here, including Tele5, with RC4.
Second: I think it would be wise to NOT use a tone like yours in this forum. The devs are doing a hard job - and I think up to day they were doing extremely well. Please take into account that MP is a FREE software - and as seen from many tests and revisions found in the internet so far it´s the BEST one, even better than those programs you have to pay for.
So I would think it´s better to calm down, review your setups and try again.

Hello Parkuhr.

For me, Tele5 on Astra 19,2E via DVB-S is working with RC3 and the latest SVN and it also worked without installing the SVN.
Next Week i'll try RC4.
