Hi there,

TVE3 works great with live TV in my single seat setup! Though, I have a problem with recordings. Both mpeg and ts format recordings are extremely choppy. E.g., if I record a one hour show the files seem to have the correct size (some 800 MB). But when playing back there's big jumps all over, like 2 seconds normal, then 5 minutes missing. I put the recorded files to another computer and viewed with WMP, with the same results. Strange is that if you put the files e.g. in HDTVtoMPEG2 it seems that actually everything is inside the file, but still if you play back it jumps all the time.

Nothing at all noted in the log files.

Any clues what's going wrong?

Thanks

Try using the same audio and video decoders, mixing can cause problems.

As you have an ATI Radeon spec gpu you may find the best PQ and performance from the ATI Cyberlink decoders.

Also the Dscaler decoders are better than the MPA/V decoders .IMO.

I have already been playing with codecs, that didn't seem to be the issue. But I will check again.

Must admit using same svn 14213 with my T500 and beside the no names on one mux problem, it appears to be rock solid for functionality\performance.

If it's showing a problem with WMPlayer then its a system wide problem, try using VLC to play the same file, also how good is your aerial reception.

    Hello,

I did a couple of fixes today:

    - WMP9 installation was broken (error message when starting manually), so I upgraded to WMP10
    - The tread priority of TVService is abovenormal now
    - When waking up from hibernation I gave an extra 15s for TVService to start, to make sure that the TV card is ready

I had tried all three steps individually, but only all of them together did the trick.

I'm now using the MPA decoder decoder again because in my setup DScaler, Nvidia and also Cyberlink video and sound lose sync when rewinding or fast forwarding

    Cheers

I also have problems playing recorded files. When skipping forward MP crashes (hangs with no resume) after about 5 min. into the recording. Same problem with a number of recordings (ts). No problem playing (and forwarding) in VLC player?

Curious how, as that is a constant niggle.
