I've been running MediaPortal for years and recently began using StreamedMP - what a fantastic skin and use of plug-ins! I'd observed that when I am in the Recorded TV menu and delete a TV show that after 2-3 seconds I will not see the Description of any of the other shows in that folder - BUMMER! To restore them I have to navigate out of the folder and back into it before they're displayed again... (And just like the shampoo bottle: repeat as necessary  )

I don't recall when I first noticed this although I think it was during 1.1.2 or 1.1.3... I'm currently running MP 1.2.0.0 Beta and the StreamedMP-Beta version released just prior to the July 2, 2011 version. I'd hope it's as easy to fix as the Red "recording dot" once it's pointed out.

Sorry for no logs... although I'm not sure they'd help since this is a GUI display issue and not in the functionality. Let me know how I can help you diagnose this :)

What your describing sounds more like a MediaPortal bug, can you try switching to the DefaultWide skin and see if you can reproduce that way we can narrow it down to StreamedMP or MediaPortal...and hopefully save us some pain :)

Sorry for not responding back sooner... it seems to be related to the skin cache??? I say this as I used the MP Debug tool to suppress plug-ins and this "blanking" of the descriptions didn't occur. When I went back into my normal (using StreamedMP) skin all was well again for a few days. Then I loaded the latest release of StreamedMP and it was all good for a few more days... then last night it began "blanking" the descriptions so I opened the StreamedMP editor and pressed CLEAR CACHE... all was well after that!

Are you sure it was a cache issue, maybe all you needed to was restart?

Hadn't tried a restart since I could simply go UP a layer and back down to restore the descriptions. And, while I can try a restart, there's a logical reason WHY it's happening that is at the root - both of these actions (clearing the cache, and a MP restart) are operational work-arounds to the root cause.

I attached logs but they're NOT relavent to this issue... just in a habit of posting them I suppose :-0
