Watching Recorded TV over network gives a 'stuttering' file playback. When watching the same stream with VLC, there is no stuttering in playback.

Thanks to the devs for looking into this and doing the ever ongoing work !

Now I have Analog connected to my 'tv-server' also, I found out that Analog streams (Hauppauge dual tuner card) do not stutter with playback.

All tested DVB-S card do this however (Twinhans, FireDTV)

can you check the "Messages/log" of VLC when watching the stream please?

No stuttering in VLC, and no messages either.

The stuttering is less with yesterdays build, but there is still a 'hickup' with MP every like 10 secs for about a split second.

It happens on all boxes I tried, i checked network hickups and such, nothing there too. It just seems the MP network client has a buffer to refresh or resync or whatever every like 10 seconds

    Even more testing:

With the 11-20-2006--01-12h--Rev11817 build of both TVE3/Client and MP the playback of recorded TV even stops (no client hang) after a few mins, where VLC just continues without any messages at all.

Im having the same problem. Recorded TV sutters on client-PC, but is Ok on server-PC.
I have been looking for this problem in the forum, and only found this thread. Is it reported any where else?
Any ideas how to test if its my network or MP that give me this problem?

    Regards/Tomas
