Recording 2 shows with identical names at the same time (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I noticed a possible bug last night.

I scheduled 3 shows to record, show 1 8pm-9pm, show 2 9pm-10pm and show 3 10-11pm.

I scheduled this show both on analog channel 3 (NBC) and the QAM/ATSC digital version of that channel at the same time.

I found that mediaportal only recorded from one of these channels at a time.

First I watched show 1, which only recorded the analog version.
I then watched show 2 which only recorded the digital version.
I then watched show 3, which again only recorded the analog version...

Is this a known issue? If not, I'll post some more details of my system and versions etc.

Something else that is most likely involved, is that when I scheduled 3 consecutive shows on the analog channel, it gives me a 'conflict' message, because the previous show finished at the same time as the next one starting.

When I did the same on the digital channels, I did not get the conflict message.

Is there any way to get around that conflict, and make mediaportal ignore the +/-2 minute additional recording time, when consecutive shows are scheduled? I think that may solve the problem.

Thanks,
Dan

What tuner cards do you have?

    PC specs?

    Post logs.

Can you record two different shows at the same time, one analog and one digital ?

If using MP's built in TV function then you can in MP Config\TV\Recordings select to ignore extended record for back to back recording.

TVE3, this has not been implemented.

Thanks for the replies. I included more info about my system above.

My card, as it says above, is a hauppauge hvr-1600. It has 2 inputs, one for ATSC/QAM, and one for analog cable. I am able to watch an analog show while recording a digital show, and vice versa.

I just did another test, and the same happened. In this case, it decided to record only from the digital channel.

I set the show "Two and a half men" to record at 7pm, both on analog channel 6 (WUAB), AND the HD version of that channel, digital channel 706 (WUABDT).

The schedule is exactly the same on the 2 channels.

I've attached the tv.log for this recording.

Only the HD channel recorded. It created the file: G:\HDRecordings\Two and a Half Men-706 WUABDT\Two and a Half Men-2007-11-20-7_00 PM.ts

There was never a file or folder created for the analog version, which should have been under F:\SDRecordings.

I tested recording 2 DIFFERENT shows, at the same time, one on analog channel 8 (fox) to record seinfeld at 7:30, and one on digital channel 705 (ABC) to record Jeopardy at 7:30.

    This worked fine, it created G:\HDRecordings\Jeopardy!-705 WEWSDT\Jeopardy!-2007-11-20-7_30 PM.ts, and F:\SDRecordings\Seinfeld-8 WJW\Seinfeld-2007-11-20-7_30 PM.mpg.

I attached a log of this too, for comparison.

It seems that if 2 shows with the same name are recorded at the same time, then tvserver discards one of them, even if they are on different channels...

    Thanks for any help.

PS, the reson I'm on an older SVN, is because from the SVN after 16534, TSReader.ax was introduced, which caused me major problems with jerkiness while watching and recording HD channels, and blurriness/slowness on my Analog channels.
