Recording and watching TV (1 Viewer)

Hi.

I'm looking for some advice.

When recording TV - 2 channels at the same time - I can still watch a third channel, but only HD ones (I'm in UK). When I try to tune into an SD channel I get the no available tuner msg. Why is this?

I only have one tuner installed - PCTV Nanostick T2 - so I was surprised to be able to record what I could but don't understand why some channels are still available while others aren't.

Its to do with all the channels being on the same multiplex. Its possible in mp to watch or record all the channels on the same multiplex simultaneously with one tuner. Just Google to see how the channels are grouped into multiplexes in the UK.

The SD channel you tried to tune into will have been on a different multiplex to the one you were recording which is why it failed.

Not sure why the HD worked unless the tuner somehow allows it. I am sure someone else can shed more light on this.

Same answer as you already gave.
The HD channels must be on the same multiplex...
