Hello,

I had the same problem with TV Server witch is realy fantastic by the way so i did a complete reinstal of my system. Same problem again so i installed codecs because there was no sound on my MP system. playing the file on an other pc was fine. when i installed Nero Showtime the problem was over and the files are playing perfectly. I am sure that there are other codecs that give the same result but this give me a solution.

I stil have a problem that i have snow on most of my channels whille the frequency's are ok in tv server

I had dowloaded, installed and tested against the latest MP SVN and TVServer release before posting last night so I guess the problem may now lie with my system configurartion. Will do some more checking tonight and will try loading Nero Showtime.

I did some more checking last night and can play the files with VLC, Mplayer and VideoRedo but MS Medieplayer gives no sound, this also affects the Live1.ts.buffer1.ts files if thats any help.

Can anyone confirm that this issue has been resolved with the latest SVN release?

Cheers

Currently just configered VLC as an external player in the Movie setup, which seems playing recordings also uses VLC....lose functionality, remote, OSD not a great problem at the mo - keep up the great work.

I have also had the no sound issue on some of my recording. I recorded the Grammies last night and was watching most of them on my replaytv. ReplayTv cut off the end of the show which kind of pissed me off, but it was a live event. I was recording it on MP and I know it recorded more than the replay. When I went into MP and clicked on my show... I had video but no audio. It played just fine with WMP. I told myself that I was going to work until I get this working... which I did.

After removing codec's and installing programs, I finally figured out why some of my shows did not have sounds. I guess some channels have AC3 audio and some do not. Seems kind of strange but that was the case. I could play some files just fine while others, it would not connect up to my audio codec. I installed AC3 1.11 and now it seems like every one of my recordings works.

I will keep testing, but I am very happy about this.... it was never fun to sit down and want to watch a show.... but then find out it how no sound.

I am just using a PVR500 card with analog cable. You can download that codec HERE to see if it changes anything for you guys.

sounds like your codec was passing through the AC3 signal to the SPDIF, and not to your stereo output

MPA has a setting for that :)

the issue which is causing the "mute" files seems to be caused by tswriter.

Been checking out somethings this end, I use the Nvidia PureVideo codec for both video and sound and when watching live tv the decoder is used (well the icon appears on the task bar) but when watching recorded tv this is not the case.

Based on what ASiDiE said I installed AC3 1.11 and set this as the audio codec and all works fine again, have not tried swapping in other audio codecs.

Interested as to why the Nvidia codec is not used, well appears not to be, when watching recorded TV though.

My experience with this issue indicates that it only occurs when I manually start recording a program.

If I start the recording through the TV Guide screen, even if the program is midway through, then I get audio every time.

It is when I am watching a show and think, oo I should record this and I start recording it right from the full screen TV 'page', then when I try to watch it later there is no audio.

However, there is audio all the while if I continue to watch the program live - it is later that MP won't play the audio. And of course if I watch the .mpg file that was created from the recording in VLC, the audio is fine.

I have a single Hauppauge pvr-150 with analog cable.

I am more than happy and available if anyone wants me to do some troubleshooting.

    Cheers
