    Dear TV3E developer,

For some time now I have experience problems where some recording are interrupted in the middle. I've tried various versions of TV3E but can't see any difference. My current TV3E SVN is from Nov 2nd (16422)

    The symptoms are as follows:

    - Recording starts on time and write the .xml file and open the .ts file

    - It records for a while but suddenly stops writing anything more to the .ts file

    - Having said that, the recording continues (according to TV Server config tool)

    - The recording stops on time and close the .ts file. The timestamp on the .ts file is correct.

When I look at the file it is OK but too short, and then suddenly ends. There has been nothing on the TSWriter.log so far but I used the version from Tourettes with enabled logging and got a LARGE log file.

The attached log file is an extract from a recording that failed today (Masters Golf). The recording starts at 13.25 and ends at 17.15. When I look at the .ts file it stops after 1.07.38. This should be at 14.32.38 in the log file.

I do not understand the content of the log file messages (about PCR values etc) but I hope this can tell you more what is going on). Please note that the file is 90MB+ uncompressed...

This also seems to happen more often on some muxes/channels than other. In this case it is TV6 which is an FTA channel. Last night I also had issues with TV4 which is on the same mux.

Can this issue have anything to do with which mux the channel is on?

    /Peter

    Hi!

    Hi!

With the TV3 SVN 16445 I can no longer reproduce this problem. I made about 15 recordings yesterday and none of them failed. It seems as the "PCR fixes" Tourettes made fixed my issue as well.

    I'm happy :)

    Hi!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to open this again... Got failures in recordings last night again. Nothing in the log as far as I can see, but logs attached.

The recording failed at exactly 00:59:01.

I use the SVN from "tvengine3-11-06-2007--19-46.zip"

I will test with the newest version but there is nothing in the changelog that indicate this problem has been addressed.

Would it be OK to ask Tourettes for a new version of the logging-enabled tswriter.ax to work with the latest SVN? Then I could provide some more detailed logs to this report.

    /Peter

Got a new tswriter.ax from Tourettes. Will install and try tonight and post additional logs after that.

    Hi again,

Now I've collected the logs from a failing recoring.

If you look at the attached log files the recording starts at 04:45 and ends at 05:55. That is also the timestamps on the .ts and .xml files. However, when I view the reocrding it ends after 21 mins, i.e. 05:06.

Have a look at the TsWriter logfile and you'llsee that something happened with TSWriter at 05:06. All of a sudden it stopped listing "PCR" and there is nothing between 05:07 and 05:55. I had to strip down the logfile since it was about 200MB so I kept the section for this recording only.

I'm running this with the logging-enabled TsWriter from Tourettes, called "TsWriter_logging_16461.ax"

Can you please have a look?

    /Peter
