Since upgrading to RC2 I have had some intermittent issues with choppy recordings.... sometimes.

I have a single seat install and some files when I playback start getting very sturrery after 20 minutes. They will stutter badly for a minute then play fine for 5 minutes. I never had an issue with RC1 but perhaps when setting up RC2 I missed something.

Any ideas what may cause stuttering in recordings?

Another issue I have noticed is that sometimes I get double entries in my recordings for the same program.

I haven't tried the latest SVN as I don't know how to install an SVN for a start and second I am tired of having to go through and re-configure all the codec settings and program settings every time I upgrade or re-install.

Anythings to check for will be appreciated.

Could you be more specific:-

The stutter never occurs with live TV?

Does the stutter occur on ALL channels that you record?

Is the stutter on SD channels as well as HD channels? (I assume you are referring to only DVB-T recordings?)

What is the CPU % usage while playing these recordings?

What video decoder do you have configured in Television and Movies (Videos)?

Check TsReader / TsWriter logs for discontinuity errors.

Wish at this stage I had more info but i'm at work and just wanted a couple of starters on either where to start looking or more info that was needed to help.

Will start gathering info and return with what I have discovered.

Some more info on this issue.

It seems to occure to the HD channels (9 and 10). On digital channels it seems to be fine. Also, when I was recording a digital channel and a HD channel while watching the HD channel the stuttering began every 8ish mins. When I rewound back to where the stutters occured, the recorded video had skips in it also so it seems to be something with the recordings.

I record ot .ts on the local hard drive.

I use the MPV and MPA codect for live tv an movie (playback). Pretty much all settings are default.

Any other things to check?

EDIT: Attached is the TSWriter log which I have cut short to save the size but it shows a lot of continuity errors. Is this the cause of the skips and how is this solved?

I also get double recordings sometimes. Not sure why it happens. I have noticed that one of the recordings is often named correctly and the other recording is called "manual"
