Hello,

i have an old DBB-S card, which works fine with MediaPortal. It means i can see TV, record channels and so on.
The problem is, that my recordings will not be played in MediaPortal. When i click on recorded file, MediaPortal tries to start the Playback and then stopps it immediately. The recorded files are present on the hard disc. It means i can play them with Media Player outside of the MediaPortal. Sometimes i see, that recorded files, which are displayed in the MediaPortal have the size 0 on the hard disc. The real recorded content is present on the disk and can be played with media player, but the files have another names, as those displayed in MediaPortal.
Another problem, that the recording will not be started immediately, after i have preseed "start recording" in MediaPortal... it takes normally about 10-20 seconds before the "red ball" will be shown in MediaPortal.
The third problem is the channel switch times... it takes almost 10 seconds to change to another channel.
May be the third problem is relative to my old dvb-s card, but the ProgDVB switches channels in 1 sec or somth. like that.
Please don't understand me wrong, i'am not accusing developers, because i'm also developer with almost 20 years exeperience. I know how hard the programmer's job could be :)

I simply need a "wife proof" solution for my HTPC. Please help.

P.S.: As for my DVB-S card then i am planning to by FloppyDTV S2, but i'm not yet sure that it solves the problems which i have.

Please post your logs so we can take a look at them. We need to see why things are not working or taking so long.

    Hello,
that's weird. The problems, which i've mentioned above, depend on sat-channel, which is current being viewed. I've seen, that channels with resolution 720x576 will be recorded & viewed without any problems. Another sat channel resolutions cause problems with my sat card. With some channels it looks like, that only very first picture is shown, then the playback freezeses. Here are the logs. There are several exceptions as i seen.Hopefully it helps to developers.
