Eager to try this out. How exactly does the Placeshift feature work?

You can use it if you have dedicated tv server.

1. Start to watch the TV in client1
2. Go to context menu on fullscreen (F9)
3. Select the palceshift item (last menu)
4. Turn off the client1

You have 30 minutes by default if I remember but you can configure the timeout in SetupTv.exe

1. Start client2
2. Go to My Tv
3. Select TV-Streams menu
4. Select the placeshift virtual user item
5. You can watch the TV from same point where you finished it on client1.

I already have MediaPortal 1.6 installed. Do I install both

No. You have to install MediaPortalSetup_1.6.0_2013-12-31-12-06 and select the upgrade option (I think it is the defult).

How do you enable Include timeshift buffer in recordings? I'm missing the Debug Options section in my MediaPortal Config screen.

To enable this feature you have to start the configuration with /debugoptions. It means: configuration.exe /debugoptions

Very cool feature, nice work. Would be great to have this possibility with MPExtended too. I often start watching at my pc in the browser/vlc and then want so switch to the bigger tv screen.
Maybe you can get in touch with Oxan, when this feature makes its way to the official MP version .
