Raffe,
Sorry but I uninstalled vmware, it was just to test mediaportal 2 on windows 8. but everything worked for me after a reboot.
Maybe your video card is not capable for 3d. or some of your video card settings are not correct.

Best regards.

Yes they are. Playback will be done by MP1 TsReader (if registered) or any other source filter like LAV.

overall I've just installed MP2 Easter Build having been an avid fan of MP 1. I have 2 HTPCs with the following specs:
    HTPC-01 - Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, 8GB Ram, X4 Phenom II 955, ATI 5570, 60GB SSD
    MP1.2.3 (Streamed MP/Moving Pictures/MyTVSeries), TMT5
MP2 Easter Build Client & Server
    HTPC-02 - Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, 4GB Ram, X4 Phenom II 955, ATI 5570, 60GB SSD
    MP1.3 Alpha (Streamed MP/Moving Pictures/MyTVSeries)
    MP2 Easter Build Client
    XBMC Eden
UnRaid Server 5.0rc5 for storage (mostly ISO images for movies, MKV for TV Series)
Feedback so far on MP2 having installed it 24 hours ago - note that I've not read through all the forum posts yet so there may be some solutions/configuration settings I need to change to fix some of the issues:

    1. The start-up speed is a great improvement - well done!
    2. The UI looks much fresher - I'm using Basic Skin with one of the Themes for now - well done!
    3. Navigation needs a bit more work - as others have noted - if using an MCE remote you need to revert to mouse at times. Also setting up shares etc needs too many 'clicks/steps'. It is not as convoluted as XBMC however it is not as quick to navigate around as MP 1.2.
    4. Using a bluetooth Logitech keyboard/mouse combo unit (DiNovo) I seem unable to type into text boxes (even when they are highlighted yellow). I have to use the on-screen keyboard. Not sure if this is a configuration item I haven't found yet.
    5. My TV Series are stored as: \TV\show name (year)\Season 1\show name_S01E01_episode name.mkv. For some reason none of my tv series are ending up in the TV Series sub-section - they just show up in videos.
    6. Whether for movies or TV Series MP 2 doesn't seem to be scraping any images/information from imdb etc? Not sure if this has been implemented yet or is an issue or a configuration item?
    7. Many of my movies have bonus disc - I also store my movies in .ISO format. The Video section doesn't stack the movies. I think this needs to be handled similar to MP 1.x. i.e. if multiple discs then just list the Movie name and then when click on it prompt for which disc.
    8. I have a lot of videos listed 001, 002, 003, 004 which I have no idea what they are? They seem to be extracts from my collection that MP2 has created for some reason?
    9. BluRay playback from a brief check seemed pretty good - I wasn't getting bitstream of some of the audio but need to investigate further to ascertain if it is a certain format of audio etc. (In MP1.2.3 on same HTPC it all works fine.)
    10. I like the 'old style' windows configuration application for MP 1.x. It means I can remote desktop into my HTPCs and set them up in the background, import media etc which working on my home pc. Also MP TVSeries and Moving Pictures gives a good view of progress of the import, issues etc. XBMC has a horrible (in my view) import process through the UI. MP 2 alpha is better than XBMC however I'd still like a standard Windows application that can connect into the server app for setting up shares, importing etc. With the architecture I believe this is possible if someone builds the app.
    11. Some sample errors below in the server.log when importing. Note: Importing takes a long long time and also there seems no visible sign of progress on importing other than looking at the log?

[the above file pointer error happens for a number of series - although they all play fine. The Series are created using MakeMKV from my original Blu-Ray or DVD discs.]

Overall MP2 is looking very promising. With the next alpha build I may switch over to it if the scraping, tv series, disc stacking are improved (or I figure out what configuration changes I need to adjust)

    thanks

Be patient for a short while, then you can test again ;-)

    8. The files 001, 002, etc are possibly blu Ray .m2ts files as they are named that way.

Thank you a couple of questions:

    1. Is there a way to make it so that MP2 just lists the .iso rather than inspecting the contents of the .iso and generating the 001, 002 etc?
    2. Have I missed something, or are the scrapers for linking to imdb and downloading the fanart/movie info not available yet?

    overall looks good!

I'm running Windows 2012 server (essensials) 24/7 and would like to use it for TV-service?
Why is TV-service unsupported for this OS? What do you plan ahead for Windows server - after all this is a Client/SERVER solution!
