Bit of a strange one, & not one for logs.

I run a resized 720p desktop to eliminate overscan on my TV. When I resize Nvidia, it creates a new resolution of 1228x690. It's effectively still 720p, but the pixels beyond the TVs border aren't used & it reports the resolution as 1228x690. The shift 1 display says 1228x690 too.

Problem - when I changed to an ATI card, it's resize procedure doesn't create the new resolution. It simply resizes 1280x720 & continues to report it as 1280x720.

MP opens fine, but as soon as I start any video playback (TV or videos), the player is playing 1228x690 as before, so it leaves a black border.

I was desperate for a fix, so I ended up reinstalling MP, but that means I lose my watched status on my videos, etc.

However, I now have an HD6570 & a GT440 that I wish to change between for some testing - how can I reset the players dimensions quickly without reinstalling? So far I haven't been able to find config file where it's listed, or a registry entry

Thanks

I'm using latest nvidia beta drivers and use gpu scaling with fullscreen selected, rather than display for 720p and that works fine

Thanks, I'll give that a shot, but my TV's EDID reported "native resolution" is 1920x1080i (it's not really , it's a 1366x768 screen that doesn't allow 1366x768 input), so the scaling ends up being a mess.

I think what I'll do is remove the resize in the GPU driver, open, run & close MP, uninstall the GPU drivers & then install the new GPU. That way MP shouldn't be remembering the previous resize.
