If you're using 18.04 SVN then try to use a more up to date version...

will do, it'll have to wait though, i'm off on a business trip tomorrow..

one thing that happens, when i click on my tv, there is a flicker where the screen goes black, really quickly, harldy noticeable. then there is a second or two pause before it actually enters my tv. this is when i am even just watching tv.I'm wondering if the same thing happens when i attempt to record something and that is what is causing the second file

Version 0.2.2.0 of mediaportal still has this issue, 2 recordings are allways created, one has the correct date, duration and information from epg. the other one allways has duration of 0:00 and seems to allways have the current date as date, and the name of the file is generetaed based on the custom name/path string from the TV configuration. Even when you leave those fields blank in configuration thee appears an example under the field and that example is the way that the files get's named then, if you put your own string in the field then the files get's named the way you set up your string.
