This is the follow on to several threads I have started about coming out of S3 standby / missing recordings. I think I have narrowed it down to the DVB-T EPG grabber. I have set the machine to wake at 5am every morning to grab EPG via PowerScheduler. Was going to say that this seems to work but looking at logs there is nothing in the EPG logs to suggest anything happend at 5am to the EPG. Also I get the following the error.log for TV Server

The machine does then go back to sleep but I do not think it is waking correctly afterwards.

Looking at a normal standby entry in tv.log I see something like:

which as you can see shows that at this point the machine is expecting to wake at 5am for EPG grabbing and again at 5:52 to record something.

After the EPG grabbing however you do not get any [Powerscheduler Suspender] messages at all and you do get

but you never see

which suggests it is doing something different when going into standby after EPG grabbing than normal ????

Why are you waking up for dvbepg grabbing, as it will do it at some idle point within the day anyway, this would normally only be used for xml TVGuide import.

ps, if you want to check what your cards are doing, get this, i just extract it to a new folder within the team-mediaportal folder and have it set to start 1 minute after windows boot, so TVServer is loaded.

I know it's not the question you asked, just do no see the point, especially with multiple cards as one will be idle at some time.

good question !!!

I guess it is because the machine sometimes goes for days without waking and I want the EPG up to date when I get in after working away.

left it to wake at 11 today (at work now) and record something at 12. willl check on this when I get home
