So, the MP-TvSeries plugin has changed, Inker has force added the tv show thumb into the tv icon section. The only way to remove it from the icon section is to add a control specifically for the thumbnail, with no plans to remove it (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=151601&postcount=267)

ALthough if you happen to not want the thumbnail at all, that means you have to explicitly use a control, and hide it.

He'res a shot.

as you can see, it doesn't really go well with ReVision's layout. I'm gonna pull it off tonight, i'll post the new xml here for anyone interested...

@ mpfrank, that issue is caused by the genre control being a label, and the program control being a fade label. Limiting a fadelabel width causes it to scroll, limiting a label control causes it to fade out text :(. I've shortened the program label and moved over the genre label. This may not fix this issue for you, if you find a program with a long name and genre description they will overlap. I could add a fadelabel for genre in all tv screens, to compensate. Alternatively if you have a better idea for the layout of all tv screens let me know ;).

Hi Reptile,

imho there is no need to make big changes because of this small overlay bug.
Better keep attention on major things... ;)

Cheers

    @ gingertom, thanks.

    @ mpfrank, ok.

@ seven5, personally I dom't see the point of screen caps. However, if the season poster was slightly smaller, we could fit the screenies below it. Have a go and let me see the result. When this is done I'll post a final update, until after my move.

No more ugly tv thumbnail intruding on our sweet icons.

I actually quite like them. It gives you a nice reminder or preview on the show. Having read your exchange with Inker I can see where you are coming from regarding content vs. format, however I still like them. IMHO, the top left corner might be a good place to display the episode picture for the highlighted episode in a more prominent way.

According to Inker, it's part of the plugin, personally I really don't mind - it's a nice feature. There's not an on/off switch per say, but my new installer could have an option to install my idea or seven5's (thanks, by the way) ;).

seven5, I did not force anything upon you, or anybody else. I don't know why you phrase it that way and you have to keep bringing it up even though I have explained it to you before. Frankly, I find your choice of words plain rude.

So once again, the online database started supporting episode images a while ago (several weeks at least) and I implemented support for them in the plugin. I wanted the upgrade to be smooth for users so that no skin update would be required, but the new feature would still work by displaying them next to the logos. At the same time I gave skin authors (and thus users) the option to seperate the two. See, everybody wins except those users that for some reason don't want any episode images at all. And even those can hide them (except in the list where they are show regarless).

I made that decision for what I thought was the best option, both for me, and for the other users. A smooth upgrade path seemed more important for me. As a developer I have to make many of those decisions, would you say I force all of those on you? Hey....I forced banners on you, and hey, I forced on you that it skips single seasons....

I'm sorry that thats not the way you wanted it to be done, but thats the way it is. I'm sorry the stupid episode images introde your sweet sweet icons. You cant please everyone, neither can I.

    I like this a lot.

One question: In your example you have four logos left of the episode image. What happens, if there are only three? Or five? Does the position of the image change? I'd like it to be fixed to the right side (like 20pix of the right end of the screen).
