what a long post that was
Yeah, it was rather.
Here's few points:
We have internal "Smooth FF/RW for DVD & TVE3" thead, wich is evaluating FF/REW issue. It has many technical proposals, but no of those are working. So we wont be adding it to Mantis until we have at least a good prototype that might even work.
...and what comes to Mantis + someone from the public solving the "bug" that is not a trivial one, the hopes are really small. There usually arent any patches for the trivial bugs
Good to know it's being worked on at least, but again, why isn't this information public? It would help the MP community out quite a bit to know that a) it's worth making proper bug reports, because they do end up being documented formally and b) here are the known limitations of the software - either I can pitch in to help, or it saves me logging yet another bug report on the same issue and clogging up the forums. The way Mantis seems to be used is as a project planning tool (here's the bit so and so is working on) rather than as a bug tracking tool - which would be fine if there was a publicly readable alternative bug tracking system in place.
Cheers,
Rob.
