In addition, I want to say SAF 4.00RC1 works perfect with MP 1.1 Beta1 using SPIDF-out for DTS/AC3 via FFDShow Audio.
Can you post your config screenshots to place on first page for other users too?
I'm not at home, will post screenshots later. But the setting I used were:
In FFDShow Audio Decoder - Mixer:
- Output Speaker configuration dropdown menu: Select "Same as input" (by default is: "2/0/0 - Stereo", this converts the original input to stereo which is not logical if we want to keep the original input for a true passthrough). I think this is why people have troubles.
- Untick "Normalize matrix" (not sure if this affect, but if you are trying to keep the original input, seems logical to avoid any kind of normalizing or other processes, as it alters the original input).
- Leave the rest of options by default (not ticked).
In FFDShow Audio Decoder - Mixer - Output: Tick "DTS" and "AC3" (both are at the top), leave the rest of options by default.
No other menu or option of FFDShow Audio Decoder is active, only the explained above.
With these settings, all inputs are being kept "as is" for outputting, without any kind of mixing/processing. My receiver detects PCM/AC3/DTS perfectly when set to "Auto".
I think people with trouble may be also affected by a wrong configuration of the audio driver, not setting correctly the DTS option or setting a wrong bitrate. Will also post the setting of mine (Realtek). Also check the obvious: Defective optical cable? Wrong configuration of the receiver?
Hope this helps.
