I want to build a MediaCenter with MP with the least codecks. So, SAF is really good, but only if my mpg HD movies are working.
I have uploaded a sample (10mb of a movie, but u only see some secs) that will not play with SAF.

Well, this video is not MPEG2 but H264, so it should be *.TS instead of *.MPG.
And no, this will be not working under MP until you rename MPG to MKV/MP4 or somebody fix MP ts reader VS MPC-HC decoder issue.

And it is not SFA but SAF (Stand Alone Filters)

Yes, CLVsd.ax is comercial, but you can extract it for free from PowerDVD software.
Using CLVsd.ax you will get perfect MPEG2 (DVD's, LiveTV, etc -not h.264) video if your hardware support MPEG2 DXVA.

Tearing and stuttering - xvid - please help

Im having trouble with stuttering and tearing when playing back xvid. The tearing is at the top of the screen (horozontal) and the stuttering is like missed frames every so often with moving objects 'jumping' from one position to another with no interim animation.

I have killed off 'cool and quiet' and have no additional settings switched on in catalyst. To test if the problem was related to MP/codecs, I ran some stuff last night in VLC and it was ok.

Ive been messing around with theis for a few days and cant seem to get anywhere with it. Im using Vistax86 and gpu is a 4550 radeon. CPU is an x2 5200, so the hardware is up to the task. Interestingly it plays 1080p fine. the problem is just with xvid avi's

Can anyone suggest anything re SAF that might be causing this problem?

I didn't think so.
Make sure you enabled Aero in Vista and vSync in Ati Catalyst.

Can be EVR issue too, try VMR9 in MP config.

I would like to do a clean uninstall of this since it completely fucked up my MediaPortal. Running saf320.exe again obviously did not help.

My problem is that I wanted to test this (since it was recommended for the Online Videos plugin) but when I tried it I got no sound. So after giving up I uninstalled saf I got no sound in MP, so I did a complete reinstall of all my codex (ffdshow, haali etc) but still no sound. And I now have done a complete reinstall (with all settings, plugins etc removed) and still no sound.

No music, no sound in movies (although the picture work perfectly) and even no sound from the skin menu. (No small "clicks" when I browse around).

So how do I uninstall SAF, or fix this problem?

Try to play any MP3 file in MP - it is working?
Sounds outside MP is working?
Check cable connection and volume level in windows, reinstall your soundcard drivers...

Edit: Disregard this post and my last, now the sound is working for some reason...

The playback of the movie-sounds is really strange though, but I will look into that now...

Mp3 in MP = Not working
Sounds outside of MP- Working (mp3/movies in Media Player Classic, Windows Media Player)
All cabels in, and volume is fine... (since I can hear the sound ouside of MP).

Would be really strange if it has nothing to do with SAF since that is the only thing I have added/changed today on the computer when the sound stoped working.

It looks like you Muted sound in MP.
Believe me, this have nothing to do with SAF, becouse in SAF are nothing that can modify MP3 sound in MP. There are only directx audio filter (to decode audio inside AVI, MKV, MP4, etc...).

Just run SAF instalation again, and this will do complete uninstall.
Can you fill you system spec. in UserCP?
Can you post not workinkg example fo testing (you can split it by MKVmerge).
