About your VSFilter problem - VSfilter only load when needed, thats mean only when video have subtitles, or can by loaded by differen splitter then Haali.
Are you sure your video don't have subtitles?
Hoborg I don't think you are right there is no problem with VSFilter (directvobsub)- even one of the developers of MPC-HC, clsid who makes the k-lite codec pack (and is a developer of MPC-HC) says it needs to be disabled to enable proper hardware acceleration - see point no.4 on the fifth post here. I found that even if I selected Haali not to load it, acceleration didn't work until I unregistered VSFilter and deleted it in safe mode.

I had exactly the same problem. Had to un-register VSFilter.dll manually to get DVXA to work.

To read protected DVD I use a little piece of software," DVD region free".
If I add "mediaportal" to the list of sofwares working with "DVD region free" I can read the DVD with CyberlinkDVD navigator included to your pack.
BUT I now have the same problems that I have with the ripped DVD on the HD: I can't change audio channel , can't change subtitles, and the DVD menu doesn't work (just the main film)!

Is that working with your solution. (didn't try yet)?

Well, I tried DVD43: it does exactly the same thing that DVD region free: the DVD can now be read but without menu. Audio channels and subtitles do not work.
Any idea? (with DVD navigator everything works fine except menu...)

I use DVD Region Killer (only for XP)- it works automatically for all programmes but your drive must be made rpc1 with with a new firmware for your drive or software (like this for Liteon drives - more info for other drives here). You could also try a commercial all in one solution like AnyDVD.

Hello, nice to hear it is working to you. :)
Well, best thing you can do is split non working video by MKVmerge and post some examples here, so i can look on them. This takes just few clicks.

I think i will create a section with video examples, and split them to working and non working with SAF...

I dumped a sample for you to look at. I checked it with graphstudio and nothing else is loading. I also used id changer and set it to 4.1 and that made no difference. Any insight you can give would be awesome. Thanks for your time!

I have bad news for you.
Your video is in MPEG4 format, so no DXVA compatible.
Only H.264 and VC-1 decoding can use DXVA.

EDIT:
Sorry, i check it again and it is H.264...
So it look like it is simply wrongly made H.264 video.

When I had VSFilter/DirectVobSub installed two DirectShow filters showed up, "DirectVobSub" and "DirectVobSub (forced auto-loading version)" (checked with Radlight filter manager from here). I wonder if you check the option shown in this image it will turn the forced auto loading version off that seemed to cause the problem with DXVA/acceleration?

MPEG4 includes h.264/AVC (I assume you are thinking of MPEG4 part 2 vs MPEG4 part 10/h.264/AVC?). In the properties for the Alien file in MPC-HC it says it it is h.264 so I don't know why it doesn't use DXVA - bad encoding maybe?
