Hi all,
I'm having a strange issue when watching shows or movies using SAF. What's happing appears to be like a frame drop of some sort as a scrolling scene in a show will result in a jump or skip. Sound doesn't seem to be affected at all. I too had searched around for the perfect solution with codecs and finally came across this and it's perfect, except for the skipping. I have a GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H mobo with 1G of ram (maybe need more?) and a 4600+ proc. I stream everything over the network which is 1Gb in my house.
I had installed Mediaportal and just installed the divx bundle prior to installing SAF so maybe there is some left over registry snippets from that package even though it's uninstalled? I also have quicktime installed for apple trailers.
I'm just running both stable versions of Mediaportal and SAF (1.01 and 3.40 I believe).
I was going to try re-installing everything on another HD and not install anything but the two and see if this works. Thanks for any assistance that can be offered.
Hi Hoborg,
I'm having the exact same problem. It disappears if i execute your 'Turn off DXVA' reg file. And i also figured out that if i make the file mkv, the problem disappears.
I think it is playing fine in MPC-HC, but i must double-check when i got home.
I'm using the following config;
Mediaportal 1.01
SAF 3.47
HD3200 Integrated (Max Memory allocated)
Catalyst 9.4
For rest, you can see my cp.

Hi Hoborg,
I tried the problematic videos with MPC-HC and it has the exact same problem. This problem appears when i open H264 encoded videos, with DXVA enabled. It doesnt appear on other videos, and also disappears when i disable DXVA.
Any solution to this?
Just upgraded to MP 1.0.1. First i uninstalled SAF and then upgraded to new MP and the installed latest SAF. But now i can't get the subtitles working anymore?? They were working perfectly with 1.0 and after upgrade they don't show up?? Anyone else have this problem?
I downloaded 3.47, but it says I need a newer version of MP. I just downloaded the MP (1.0, a few days ago) linked to on the home page - what's the newest version of saf works with that?
Hi.I read that the new MP 1.0.1 allows for using the PowerDVD 8 navigator.
How do I do that, could it be included in SAF?
Or could you make a recipie on how to extract it from the trial version of PowerDVD?
United States of America
I have a question, when i install SAF e choose not to use DXVA, if i want to trie do use DXVA, i only have to reinstall SAF and choose that option?
And with DXVA can i have subtitles?

you can use the disable/enable reg files that hoborg includes in the zip file. much easier than the reinstall!![]()

No idea - but what MB (1.0, 1.1 or 2.0) version do you have and what BIOS version?
MB is GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev.1.1)
with F5 BIOS.
Celal

Well, maybe this can be old MB revision problem, who knows?

I doubt that
The thing is, it was working before. Unfortunately, i don't know when this problem begin. Maybe i can find out trying the old SAF packages. But i must say that I'm positive the problem is MPC-HC codec and DXVA acceleration.
