if i use only the mpa codec i don't get the dolby sound. Instead if in configuration of mediaportal i postprocess the audio with ac3 filter i get the dolby digital sound.... i don't know why

Did you go in MediaPortal Config and set MPA to use SPDIF, I think it's under DirectShow filters in Expert mode.

I restarted in full screen mode & get a popup saying cannot play <video>.avi, video codec divx, audio codec mp3.

Logs attached. I have no problem downloading and installing divx - I just don't want to break saf.

Apologies for not posting a video sample - I did produce a small one to demonstrate but tried to rip in WMV to ensure it wasn't an issue with the ripping software - unfortunately WMP decided to download a new codec that meant WMP not longer played those AVI files.

So....I've restored an old version of my install - lost my TV server config but have also stepped back prior to an ffdshow install - I installed with no codecs selected to see if I could work around the .ts playing problem, uninstalled shortly after - however, it had obviously impacted the config somehow.

I now know two things - one is that renaming the .ts files .mkv works perfectly (so I can see a short dos script appearing in my startup folder shortly if I can figure something suitable) and that my SAF install appears ok but for 1 oddity - I can play the DIVX files as long as the aspect ratio is "stretch" - all others appear to fail (I get sound but no playback), as stretch seems to give the best screen fill (I thought it was zoom but stretch seems to work) that's now my default.

I'm testing using with a postprocessor AC3 Filter and is working, but onestly i don't understand how MPA can codify Dolby Digital if also in graphedit doesn't work... this is strange for me....

As great as SAF is, for the longest time I used to unregister the MPA audio decoder and install AC3Filter because I liked it better. You could always go that route. I think you can use RadLight filter manager to unregister codecs.

Why Elecard for live tv? Becouse it alow you to use DXVA + gama correction to make gray black - this is great feature for analog TV.
BTW - no watermark at all for 21days

The mainconcept (same as elecard) mpeg2 decoder that comes with progdvb has no watermark that I have seen.

Hi.... i have a question about mov files trailer

Use the prog GDSMux that comes with Haali media splitter- open GDS, right click input, select source (the trailer file)- type in a filename < filename>.mkv, click start- this is better than just renaming to mkv.

Hi,

Today i decided to test SAF and to see what DXVA could do. And i must say that i am quite impressed. No i have a few questions:

-I disabled subtitles from MP to be sure that i use DXVA. I think i can clearly say that i use DXVA when my cpu is below 20% on 720p(but still is there a way to now for sure?) ...
It appears that when i try to enable subtitles during playback, nothing happens(if i understand they are draw but not at the right time). So my first question is does someone knows how to start a movie with subtitles from Mp? I mean my default is disabled but sometimes i want them, especially for non english movies, and wouldnt like to have to go into MPconf everytime.
- Now before going to saf i was using FFDSHOW and the main reason for that was that i had to correct picture properties for videos playing on my projector(secondary screen).
Now with MPC i dont have picture properties. But i might even have better, and i want your opinion. I discovered in the newest nvidia control panel that i could correct video properties differently for each screen. It appears to be working with DXVA but i would like to be sure. Will changing pictures properties(colors, edges ...) with nvidia will affect (badly) my dxva decoding?
-Last but not least, i configured MPCHC to use the same codecs as MP, that way i can test eveyrthing in MPCHC. The only thing i can see that doesnt seem right in MPCHC is that the vsync doesnt seem to be working. I forced it from nvidia control panel, i use vmr9 renderless on a 3d surface. Am i missing something?
