Hi.
By HD you mean h.264 live TV?
Becouse MPC-HC decoder is not compatible with h.264 HDTV (it is writen on first page). You need to install some other h.264 decoder (like CoreAVC for example)
Local media will be working fine for you.
You can update catalyst to 9.6, they are working fine on HD3200.

Yes, it's live h.264 (BBC HD)
I'll have a look at CoreAVC but I seem to recall that it doesn't do hardware acceleration.
This post refers to my other HTPC... it runs using a single core Pentium 4 M (@2GHz) and using a HD3400 GPU. Is Cayalyst 9.6 still OK?

Do you know which files are required from the PowerDVD installation to do HD? If you know the actual filenames that's OK... I can work out the IDs inside the CAB file.

Cheers for all your hard work

HD3400 should be OK.

About PDVD - it is not that easy, just registering one file won't solve anything... You must install whole PDVD (not 9.xxx) to make it working. It is complicated... We all hope, that MPC-HC/MP TS reader will be modify to support h.264 streams...

Quite frustrating this HD HTPC business...

MPC-HC decodes h.264 files (renamed recorded .TS -> .MKV files) perfectly but won't do live h.264 (because it's a .TS file I assume)
CoreAVC doesn't support ATI HA and therefor decoding is choppy on my CPU
Latest PowerDVD 9 seems to break MP (it hangs on "loading filters" during configuration)
Older PowerDVD codecs (DXVA.rar torrent) seem to suffer from the same problem I originally had, namely double decoding. I uninstalled PDVD9 trial and just registered codecs from DXVA.rar - is this the right approach?

So no live HD TV for me

As always with HTPC... just "one more thing" needs to be fixed and it'll be perfect!

Update PowerDVD 8.0.1513 (available as a torrent) does the trick. SD & HD working nicely now. So... can PDVD8 still be obtained legally?

i have no problem with using combination of PDVD8 (2217aU), MPCVideoDec.ax, Haali mkv splitter and live h264 TV. I'm not using the SAF package, but all the elements are the same, so don't see why it shouldn't be possible with SAF.

    Yes, post small example please.
I think problem is Win7 and its own audio video decoders (there is nothing from SAF used in graph), or you simply forgot to enable AVI under haali settings.

sample.. I need FTP or other sorce to upload, forum is limet to 5 MB ;(

Humm in graph all i do was drag over the avi file, thats it...
how do i make graf show me what's inuse in MP when MP try to play the file ??

Haiil splitter is set to AVI support..
i launch the graphedit.exe then launch Mp
in MP, launch a video file of your choice.
then i just alt-tab and select the "connect to remote graph" in graphedit to see whats going on.

note. the link to graphstudio NEVER worked for me.
i used Vista 32 and Vista 64 and the proppage.dll listed is for XP only and it will not work in Vista.
i had to get the vista .dll' from the SDK by MS. not an easy find i might add.
anyway with the correct proppage.dll and evrpage.dll registered it all works well.

let me know if you need the vista32 or 64 files.
and i think the thread starter should make a note or link to these .dll's for those who dont use XP anymore...

Thanks to all who want to test SAF with h.264, but...
...it is little complicated i am afraid.
Now i can play h.264 .TS files under GB-PVR using SAF + cyberling h.264 decoder, but MP still no go.
Can anybody who is using Cyberlink for Live H.264 TV (have working setup) can try to play this example, and post graph from graphstudio + MP logs?

I am simply not able to "reproduce working status" under MP :(

    Thanks

    Here you have it:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

I've used MyVideos. If you want me to play it as if it was a TV recording, just ask.

    bye!

Yes... I use my own directshow filter selection, not just SAF... But it's ok to test what you want I think... isn't it? If you want me to try with another audio decoder please ask, too.

The graph you are provided in DL link is not from MP.
Please post graph when playing file in MP...
It's from MP, obviously there's no sense that I post graph from any other player... Why do you say it's not? ¿?
