Why is SAF not integrated in MP 1.0.2 or 1.1 Alpha?
It seems SAF is necessary for DXVA support. I could not get DXVA working with just MPC-HC installed (also FFDShow, Matroska splitter and "CLVsd.ax"). because then I could not select MPC video decoder, really needed SAF for this.

Or is SAF not necessary (for DXVA) when you already have MPC-HC/ffdshow/matroska/clvsd.ax installed?

Because it makes no sense to install a codec pack as part of the MP install. I definitely don't want SAF on my system as I've configured only the codecs I need correctly. The last thing I want is a codec pack over-writing my configuration and messing with my carefully managed DirectShow filter merits.

You obviously installed things incorrectly. Simply installing MPC-HC does not allow you to use MPCVideoDecoder outside of MPC-HC. You need to register the MPCVideoDecoder filter separately. See my https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/mediaportal-install-guide-49685/ for more details.

I totally agree on this point.

But it would be very nice especially for people with no knowledge of codecs to be able to have some things installed automatically or be able to choose these things... via the MP installer or so.. just makes life easier for a lot of people.

I indeed did not read the Install Guide completely because I already found SAF and also spended a lot of time finding the correct skinfiles for plugins.

On this point, I agree totally. I think there SHOULD be a codec pack for MediaPortal, and I think SAF is getting there. It would be nice to see it as an installer option in the future. I also agree that SAF won't be for everyone, and it must be an option. Mediaportal is a fairly unique platform, and I think a codec pack tailored to it is going to eliminate a lot of startup trouble for new users. Current guides like damasters are great, but still a little too complicated for the uninitiated (no offense intended damaster).

I have problems with fastforward and fastrewind. Only 2x is with high pitch audio. Faster than 2x is not possible and it says 4x 8x etc but visible is 2x with high pitch audio.
I use SAF + PowerDVD9 extracted ax file as mentioned in the first post. Anybody can relate to this?

Thanks to all who want to test SAF with h.264, but...
...it is little complicated i am afraid.
Now i can play h.264 .TS files under GB-PVR using SAF + cyberling h.264 decoder, but MP still no go.
Can anybody who is using Cyberlink for Live H.264 TV (have working setup) can try to play this example, and post graph from graphstudio + MP logs?

I am simply not able to "reproduce working status" under MP :(

    Thanks

I have working setup that uses PDVD for H264 TV, and uses MPCVideoDec for movies/tv series.

"Notworking.ts" works if I play it as a "H264 TV Recording" ie. use PDVD codec, if i attempt to use mpcvideodec.ax i get black screen

    I currently have setup as
    Videos: H264 = MPCVideoDec.ax
    TV Settings: H264 = PDVD8
