Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Hi, upgraded to SAF 4.0 RC2 with Mediaportal 1.1RC1 from SAF 4.0 beta 22 test6 with Mediaportal 1.1 BETA 1.

After the upgrade, unable to play certain avi files, mediaportal displays:
Unable to play: Filename.avi
Video codec: MPEG-1V
Audio codec: MPEG-1 AUDIO LAYER 2

How can i fix this?

If you drag and drop your file in to graphstudio, did it work?

For that particular type of avi file it says "can't open file". The file plays on MPC-HC .

OK. Rename *.AVI to *.DIVX and try it to open again in graphstudio.

I renamed the file type to .divx and graphstudio now reads the file and it also play in Mediaportal.
Graphstudio indicates Filename.divx to MPEG-1 Stream Splitter to ffdshow Video Decoder to EVR
and to ffdshow Audio Decoder to Default Directsound Device

Are you sure it is really AVI container and not MPG?

Hi, upgraded to SAF 4.0 RC2 with Mediaportal 1.1RC1 from SAF 4.0 beta 22 with Mediaportal 1.1 BETA 1.
After the upgrade, everytime when i press the forward or rewind button,in TV, there is no picture.

Am i the only one who have trouble with HDtv and Cyberlink codec? I get audio, but the screen is black. Tried on MP RC1 with SAF RC1 and SAF RC2...

    AW: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

Heureka! SAF is now running as a charm!!! Thanks Hoborg!!!

I tried SAF three times but it never worked out on my system (some videos played without sound, some didn't even start, some were out of sync). I always suspected that this might be due to some codecs and other leftovers on my system. Therefore I made a rather radical approach: I removed all non system codecs / DirectShow filters with ZomPlayer prior to installing SAF, without the need to reinstall Win XP, MediaPortal, or any other software on my machine!

If you wanna try out the same, always make a complete backup of your system drive beforehand changing anything at your system (that's at least what I did, even though I didn't need the backup at the end).

Okay this procedure removed all my problems (so far I found only one video that didn't play; all my TV recordings that had been converted to H264 are now in sync!):

    1) BackUp your system drive with Norton Ghost, or something similar (lots of freeware is available out there)!
    2) remove everything that comes with a codec (players, PWDVD, FFDshow, Haali, etc) from your system with an uninstaller (e.g. RevoUninstaller, or some similar Freeware, etc)
    3) download & install the latest free version of ZoomPlayer)

***(the following steps are from the CCCP support site)*********************************************************
    4) Start ZoomPlayer without having any file open.
    5) Go right click -> Options and make sure the advanced mode is enabled.
    6) Go to the System -> Filter Management tab and then press "Registered Filter Manager".
    7) Select all filters in the list using the shift key and press "Unregister Filter(s)". This will most likely show a dialog too big for your monitor so just press enter to proceed.
    8) After this nuking, you have to restore the system filters which you do by clicking "Re-Register System Filters".

*** (after this step you might notice that no codecs are available in MP anymore)******

    9) download & install SAF; restart system
    10) configure MediaPortal
    11) have fun!

    Cheers,

    Craig

P.S.: The CCCP-Team doesn't say for no reason that "this should only be done when everything else fails. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, CHILDREN!". So please, for you own interest, make a backup of your system before changing anything!!!!

I don't know if this is an bug of MP 1.1 RC1 or comes from codec...

Yesterday, I tried to open a h.264-file in MP, but there was an error occuring, that the file couldn't be played because of Video-Codec h264 and Audio-Codec MP3!

In Logs there is something reported of an VMR9-Error, but I have EVR activated?!?

    Thanks!
