Hi Hoborg.
Little question some of us dutch users have now because of the new beta release of onlinevideos which incorporates a lot dutch stuff now (tvgemist etc.).
We found that we need to enable MS DMO decoder in order to get online videos to stream the streams from uitzendinggemist.nl.
Besides that I found that I quite often need to enable that decoder to circumvant certain unexpected behaviour, for example some of my games do not work with MS DMO off (heroes over europe). A lot of wmv files I have do not work with DMO off, some do but most don't.
Could you maybe enlighten me with the reason you turn this off?

Indeed, why is this turned off by default?
Now I wanted to install the RC2, but there is the error again, that the file was downloaded but the decompression failed!
The second time when I try to install the RC2 there is an error, that no connection to the internet is etablished...
I always have to restart my computer unless the decompression works... Could it be that there is a bug since the RC1 in the unlocked version?
As I got SAF to work on my main HTPC system, I thought I would take the next logical step & install similar onto my bedroom client machine, as I was having issues with recorded New Zealand FreeviewHD *.ts files.
I installed an earlier Ghost image, which had no codecs loaded & reinstalled what I wanted from there.
I installed the latest SAF -RC2- & the latest MP RC1 versions. I am playing the media files across my wired home network. I also have the MY TV Series (2.5.1.969) & Moving Pictures (1.0.3) plugins & StreamedMP (ver.601 with default Moving Pictures update).
Everything works (mpge4 -(DivX & XVid) files: TS -(H.264+AAC-HE) files) except DVXA does not appear to function with my Blu-ray ripped *.MKVs. The system just hangs, sort of: not surprising as it is only a Sempron 3000 -have just retried playback for this post & it plays but just with the huge stutter. This is in windowed mode, so I can exit out.
I have checked GraphStudio & it shows the PowerDVD9 codec is being loaded in the filter chain after connecting to windowed Mediaportal.
Using Process Explorer it shows major CPU (90+%) loading when attempting to playback the file, which has huge stutter & I am forced to cold reset from the PC case's button. However, if I load the same *.mkv file into Media Player Classic, it plays fine.
I have attached the MP bug report files & the SAF ones are inside the zip file, along with two screenshots of Process Explorer with no CPU load & the load generated with the movie playback. As stated, everything works perfectly on the main system. So not sure why it does not here. I even tried setting up the previous 1.1.0beta version of MP with no success.
Any ideas, anyone &for your thoughts.
The strange thing, is that if I execute the file in explorer all is decompressed fine...
Could it be that there is an error cause of permissions?
Where are these files extracted to?
