Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Can you please try this build? FFDshow is now blocked for TV server configuration.

Cyberlink (if you have unlocked SAF)/Gabest decoder should be in use now.

Seems to still be using FFDshow, judging from Graphedit. Same as previously posted, connects to EVR. I will double-check to be sure I did not miss something.

Strange, FFDShow should be blocked... The preview is in TV server configuration?

As one image says more than a thousand words... This time I made sure I used test2 to uninstall and reinstall. Then let the computer reboot.

Ops, i did an mistake!

Please try this build.

Now it does not use FFDSHow, but PowerDVD. Still no preview, PowerDVD connects to EVR as well.

Well, i am out of options here. This must be MePo preview window issue after all.

Can you try tu unregister Cyberlink decoder (you can simply do it in Graphstudio). Then Gabest should be in use.

I think preveiw window doesnot have any graph build definition. It will use default OS renderer (SAF set it to EVR) instead of simple video renderer causing it to render blackscreen only.
This issue must be here since SAF5 itself...

When I unregister PowerDVD it does use MPC Gabest. But also no video. And indeed connects to EVR...

Edit: this might maybe also explain why in one game I don't get the intro-movies whenever SAF is installed ? Talking about Bloowdbowl...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I have just uninstalled v5.0 and installed v4.0 and all my videos play with no stutter again! Looks like v5.0 was to blame here, or some sort of FFDSHOW DXVA incompatibility with MePo?

What are the downsides to using v4.0 instead of v5.0 in terms of Video output, primarily for x264 material (as that's what I watch the most of)? (btw, I have read the v4.0 FAQ but can't see what v5.0 improves upon other than slimlining the number of codecs used)

Interesting. When playing video in MePo, what does GraphStudio show now? Does it look the same as it did with SAF V5?

The graphs are quite different, predominantly because SAF v4 uses the MPC decoder as opposed to v5's FFDSHOW decoder. See below:

True, preview window just as the OS to build the graph (after adding the TsReader as source filter).

Ok, because of this is SAF5 a little incompatible to Mp ?

    SAF4 works fine...
