Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)
Strange. FFDShow DXVA decoder is nearly 1:1 copy of MPC DXVA decoder (it is using the same source code).
Do you think this is correct? There can be lots of reason why default video renderer is set to something else.
This only afect preview in channel tuning in TV server config.
Maybe you mean BluRay playback? Look here
Nope, uninstall=>install. This need to be done becouse of compatibility.
That is becouse MediaPortal TS reader is in use for *.TS files. Rename them to m2ts - this should fix your problem inside MePo.
SAF doesnot support DVB subtitles right now (should be in future).
Check your EVR.log - you will see you have a lots of frames droped. I bet this is causing audio/vide desync.
I tryed your sample and it play perfectly here for me, no droped frames at all. CPU usage ~20%.
I have just uninstalled v5.0 and installed v4.0 and all my videos play with no stutter again! Looks like v5.0 was to blame here, or some sort of FFDSHOW DXVA incompatibility with MePo?
What are the downsides to using v4.0 instead of v5.0 in terms of Video output, primarily for x264 material (as that's what I watch the most of)? (btw, I have read the v4.0 FAQ but can't see what v5.0 improves upon other than slimlining the number of codecs used)

I think preveiw window doesnot have any graph build definition. It will use default OS renderer (SAF set it to EVR) instead of simple video renderer causing it to render blackscreen only.
True, preview window just as the OS to build the graph (after adding the TsReader as source filter).

Ok, because of this is SAF5 a little incompatible to Mp ?
SAF4 works fine...

Hi have a little problem with m2ts files
M2ts files it is always the file not playing normally even see the files like this 000.m2ts 001.m2ts then he starts with the 001.m2ts and if only one file the film has is not playing
Have times changed to the Microsoft codec then play them correctly in MP.
Hope you can tell me what there is flasch
info for MP 1.1 Final and last saf 5.0 Windows 7 64 bit
sorry for the bad english googel make it

Is there a way to just update from one svn to the next or do you always need to uninstall previous svn first?
thanks

The graphs are quite different, predominantly because SAF v4 uses the MPC decoder as opposed to v5's FFDSHOW decoder. See below:
Wow. Never tried V4 myself, didn't know it was so different. If everything is working with V4, maybe just stay with it and save yourself a bunch of time.
Similarly, I had an issue with (SAF V5) FFDSHOW playback of TS files. (Issue only occurred when playing inside MediaPortal). I spent a lot of time trying to solve the mystery, even though the native "inferior" MPC codecs gave perfect playback. Ultimately I gave up on FFDSHOW.

Hello everyone, I was hoping you guys could clear something up for me? I had installed v5.00 in the hope that it might get subtitles working for MediaPortal's .ts recordings, but I've yet to get them to display. I use MP 1.1.0 with 4TR 1.5.0.1. I'm not exactly certain what the current situation is. I understand that MP has had some trouble displaying captions natively, but I haven't found anything on the forums stating that it doesn't encode them. As a very long time user of Meedio, which did encode them but did not natively support their display, I was able to use FFDShow to view them. When I've checked a MP file in GraphEdit, I do not see a connection for captions, and when playing a file in VLC, I again see no subtitle stream. Also, often what I've found on the forums discusses captions and subtitles in a general sense, often without implicitly stating whether this means TV or DVD or other video files, so I haven't been able to work out what is going on.
So I was hoping you guys on this thread, since you deal with the encoding/decoding aspect of MP so much would be able to help. Does MP encode the caption stream for TV? If it does not, is there a way to force it to? If it does, is there a limited number of codecs and/or settings that accomplish this? If there is, could you suggest them? I thank you all very much for any help and/or information, and apologize if anyone feels I've hijacked at all. While I am not hearing impaired, I am accustomed to using captions because I like them. and do miss them very much. And to hoborg, thank you for a great codec package.

Has anyone encountered problems with SAF 5.00 on Nvidia ION?
Yesterday I reinstalled the OS on my Acer Aspire Revo 3610 (Atom 330, ION, 2GB RAM), installed MePo 1.1.0 final with MovingPictures, MyTVSeries and MyAnime2 and SAF 5.00 build 816 (in this order). ffdshow DXVA is set as the h.264 decoder in MePo configuration.
Now, the problem is that 1080p video lags horribly in MePo internal player, whole blocks of frames are dropped and ASS subtitles don't work properly, the video is unwatchable.
When I play it in MPC-HC included in SAF, the situation is slightly better, video is more-or-less okay, but the audio is completely out of sync (delay of about -500ms) and disappears occasionally.
When I switch MPC-HC to its internal filters, everything plays perfectly.
The video drivers are latest from nVidia, here is the clip I used for testing: K-ON!_OP2_[1080p,BluRay,x264]_-_THORA v2.mkv - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? What other info do you need?
Is DXVA in use or not? (dudning playback press CTRL+ALT+O).
I think it is (see attached screenshot). I also included SAF install logs and evr.log, mediaportal.log and myanime2.log in the second archive.
In the logged event I starter MP, navigated to MyAnime2, played the file and after it finished returned to home screen and quit MP.
One thing I noticed was that the video was way behind audio and after the audio track finished the video was still catching up for about 10 seconds and then playback finished. CPU load was never higher than 40%.
