Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello hoborg,
And thanks a lof for all your work with SAF, I'm a fan.
I had a problem these last days when installing the latest SAF 5 SVN100825, my Satellite cart stopped working properly, I obtained the error "unable to add bda mpeg2 transport information filter" in the log when trying to view a channel. I think this is because of the "integrated MS DVB hotfix (WinXP only)" in this latest version. I'm on Vista, so I understand that this hotfix should not been installed for me but I think it did it anyway because when I tried then to uninstall the SVN100825 and I installed the previous one SVN100823, everything worked properly.
I think it is important for you to know this.
Thanks

Hi.
Thanks for info!
Can you send me your SAF logs?
Can you check if you have "dvbfix" in Windows folder?

I checked the SAF code and i didnt found any problem. At last SAF didnt install it on my Win7.

Hi Hoborg,
Just installed the SVN20100830 and everything is ok now. I didn't have the problem with the tv tuner any more.
Sorry for not sending the SAF log to you.
Thanks a lot.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi.
If anybody wants to try:

I did some SAF cooking, and now *unlocked* SAF is able to play all VC-1 (yes, both i and p) using DXVA.
- tested only on M2TS files without DXVA (i do not have DXVA hardware here).
- audio stream switching is supported
- subtitles are supported, but only using MePo subtitle engine

Here is test build.
Please try and report results!

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've got a Problem by using SAF (5) with my onBoard Soundcard. I've got a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Motherboard with a Realtek ALC889A Soundchip.

I want to use my 5.1 Soundsystem by using 3,5" Jack-Connectors (analogue). I've configured 5.1 Speakers in the Realtek Control Panel (I also tried it with the Windows Audio Setup). I used the ffdshow settings shown in the attached files. (I tried it with enabled and disabled "Mixer").

My problem is: The sound sounds like a upmixed (and voice filtered) stereo sound. For example: If I'm watching a there is a conversation (voice/moderator) the sound comes only out of speaker "front left" and "front right". But if there are many other sounds in the film (linke effect-sound or music), there comes also a signal out of the "side left" and "side right" speakers. But the interesting is, that the signal sounds the stereo, but voice filtered).

But when I'm using a Asus Xonar DS (from a friend ;)) everything works fine (with the same settings). An output over S/PDIF works also fine.

    Any Ideas?

PS: Sorry for my bad english :(

Is windows configured for the appropriate amount of speakers? that sounds like it would be the problem, although it's not so important when using an SPDIF connection, i would imagine that it's kind of crucial for using the analogue output options.

    I know if affects HDMI.

    Cheers!

AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi Hoborg,

first of all thanks a lot for your great work! I use saf 5 since you came out with it.

Everything is working fine despite some issues playing online-videos. Ever since saf came out apple trailers via the trailer plugin wouldn't work for me. I used to install qt-lite after installing saf, that fixed it.
Now for a couple of releases of saf it doesn't work any more that way. I think the last sav version it worked was saf500svn100816.
I tried to get it to work with saf solo, saf+qtlite and saf+quicktime_directshow_source_filter_1.7.0.19. No luck.
In onlinevideos plugin all nearly all streams work fine, just in trailer plugin the mov-streams will return an error saying something about "Couldn't play xxxx.mov".

To everyone: Anyone around who has it working with this config: Win7 x64, HDMI-Sound via ATI, SAF solo, MP 1.1.0, OnlineVideos, Trailers?

    Thanks
    Luca

    Hi.

    Should it accelerate VC-1i video?
It doesn't do it on atom 330 ION.
    Progressive video got accelerated.

Probably I am wrong. It is played using ffdshow dxva. Why did you mention the *unlocked* SAF then?

    Hi.
Please, reproduce the problem and post MePo and SAF logs.
I dint change anything on MOv playback for long time...
    EDIT:
I just tryed to play Live as we know it 720p and it is working without any problem.
There is no need to insatll QT alternative for HD MOV fileas and QT source filter if you are using unlocked SAF.
Post LOGs, i will look - there can be some registry mess causing broken MOv playback.

    santal123 and mrmojo666:
I deleted that build, it doesnot work correctly (stuttering).

    Hi Hoborg,

    thanks for looking into this.
I attach the logs as you wished. Odd thing is that mp sometimes tells me it couldn't play the file sometimes it just hangs. You will find logs for the case with the error message.
Maybe it is related to win 7 x64. I tried both my machines, they show the same bad behavior.

BTW: Is saf_logs.7z under c:/ the only saf log file or do I have to look somewhere else?

    Regards
    Luca

This happend if you trying to play *.MOV file from apple trilers. So use default audio renderer and try again.
    This is not SAF related...
