Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi.
SAF should clean all what was changed durning uninstall.
There is no problem if you install/uninsta/install new version/etc...
The problem can be if you install latest SAF and then you install old version.

There is no need to use any registry cleaner i think.

many Thanks.

Harald

    Hi,
Does anyone know if the updated SAF/PDVD fixes the stuttering on BBC HD (which I think may be caused by variable bit rate)?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I gave it a quick test (on my test htpc) and it still seemed to stutter. :(

    I'll do more testing today.

    Thanks,

    J.

    Hi Hoborg,

Everything working great with MP and SAF but I have no sound with Windows Media Player (Windows 7 x 64 bit) if the avi is AC3 48000Hz 448 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1) . Just makes a constant muffled sound. Everything Works great with MPC and Media Portal just not Windows Media Player if it's AC3. Any Setting I can change somewhere in FFDshow?

    Thanks!

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi,
I realize this may be asking a lot but is there any way to get the PDVD codecs from an early version of SAF (version beta 22) installed (and working) at the same time as the none PDVD codecs from SAF 5? I ask because the early codecs seem to just about work with BBC-HD (only very slight judder), on Vista. But I would really like to have up to date flv support for online videos... I tried installing SAF 5 and then unregistering/deleting the PVD codecs folowed by adding the old PDVD codecs (from the earlier install) and registering these. The old codecs showed up but when I tried to play BBC-HD content my system hung (needing a re-boot). So I guess there is more to it than simply registering the codecs!

    Thanks

    Andy

Oh and I can confirm that the latest SAF/PDVD still judders on BBC-HD (on Vista)...

    Andy

Win7 WMP uses Media foundation, not Direct show, is not it?

If you play your video in graphstudio, does it play fine?

The movie is playing fine in graphstudio, no lag what so ever. I'm attaching a snapshot.

BTW, you GPU driver are dated "9-27-2009", try to update them.

My motherboard has a onboard GPU (NVIDIA GeForce 9300/nForce 730i), and according to NVIDIA there hasn't been any released NFORCE driver for Windows XP since 2009.10.01 (link). Is it possible to update the GPU driver any other way?

So this must be MePo issue...
And standard nVidia drives doesnot work on your GPU? Is it not inregrated in one driver?

Took a deep breath and did a fresh install of Windows 7. Everything works like a charm now, must have been something with my computer... Thank you for SAF!

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I am currently using ffdshow rev3537 as this works with pgs subtitles, though I cannot get ffdshow DXVA to load up as default via graphstudio or in mediaportal when it has been selected in the config.

If i run a saf install then ffdshow DXVA is registered correctly and is used as default, how can I do this with rev3537?

Although I am still interested in the above, I have realised that I can use the MPC-HC decoder and the MPC-HC subtitle engine and still get DXVA and subtitles quite easily.
