Re: AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

short offtopic (sorry)

@ hoborg (the codec-specialist :) )

i use the latest SAF5
but also i have a "strange" codec in my MePo-Config-Codec list -
it is in the h.264 codec list and called-

"funbox video codec filter"

do you now where it comes from?
is that from Nero Burning Software?

google wasn't a help to find the answer....
just found something about Samsung Cell-phone-soft
but why a cellphone needs a h264 codec ????? *confused*

You can locate it easilly. Open graphstudio, Graph - Insert filter and look for your codec. 1x click on the name and you will have detailed info about it, file name, path (to identify what software install it), etc. You can even unregister it if you want.

    Hi,
Is there some way to "re-lock" SAF5 so that it does not install the PDVD components? I'm trying to track down some issues and I'd like to remove the PDVD items from the picture...

Also on my Windows 7 system having SAF5 installed stopped the Windows rating from working (it failed when trying to run the video playback task). With SAF installed the test would not run, but with SAF removed the test ran fine...

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi Hoborg,
Thanks for your help with this... But how do I use locked saf on my system once I've run the unlock program? Is it possible to undo whatever the unlock program does? Or is there some option to saf?

    Thanks

    Andy

    Hi there,

I think you can simply delete/move/rename the wget.exe file - then run the SAF installer again (this will then run in "locked" mode)?

    Run key again...

    Worked perfectly thanks!

Any thoughts on why the Windows performance test seemed to be broken by SAF 5? Has anyone else seen this?

    Andy

I think it is avi splitter problem.
Try run graphstudio, Graph - insert filter, look for "MPC - Avi Splitter" and hit unregister.
This should fix your problem, but you wont be able to play some AVIs correctly.

    EDIT:
I just try to tun this stupid test on my Win7x64 and all was finished without any error...

    Hi Hoborg,
I'll give this a try as soon as I can. Not sure if it makes any difference or not but my system is 32bit Windows 7 (so perhaps the test does not load 32bit filters when run on 64bit systems?)... Will let you know what happens...
