But why I get massive blocks in MP using 24p and DXVA?

Rule are simple - if it is working in Graphstudio, SAF is working as it should.

At last SAF 5.0 seems to be working well, and the picture quality on HD seems much improved!

However... One odd thing is happening...

My Samsung 52" LCD is set to use 1:1 pixel mapping (it is 1920x1080). For some reason in Nvidia control centre I have to set my refresh rate to 60hz - if I set it to 50hz, then the image overscans.

When I play a movie in MP using the SAF 5.0 codec, and then exit to menu, MP menu screens are off the tv screen. If I then look at the refresh settings in Nvidia control centre, they are set back to 50hz..

Any ideas?

Samsung TV's are usually set to 16:9 ..what u need is "Screen FIT" then it wont overscan and u can tell nvidia to shove it =)

Ive had 2 Samsung TV's and they both do this...just set to "Screen FIT" instead of "16:9" and ur set.

This could be an EDID problem ==> your TV is not reporting correct information to video card.

Take a look at this. It's a tool you run once to generate a new INF file.

YMMV. I couldn't get the exe to run, but apparently this is an issue with my machine. Even if that is the case, you might be able to manually create a proper INF file.

Did you installed MePo audio renderer?

Not per se, I'm installing (in process of) the latest MePo alone, never installed before MePo audio renderer by itself, and planning on installing the latest SAF 5.0.

Then i really dont understand your question...

I didn't know that there is program named MePo audio render, I thought it's one of the options set up inside MePo.
Now I know better.

Yes, you can setup what to passthrough here. I use coax digital to my receiver, so I've chosen:

Mixer: same as input or the number of speakers in your setup (you can probably use LFE as well)
Output: I use passthrough for Dolby Digital and DTS (the hd audio formats aren't supported by anything but HDMI AFAIK) and also make sure the "Connect as PCM first" is used.

I've set up "setting up ffdshow Audio decoder" per your suggestions, but couldn't find Mixer on that window?

Any need for me to adjust anything at all with FFDShow or MPC-HC? with SAF 4.00 I needed to do some setups.

I still can't play some MKV movies which play fine om MPC-HC or with GraphStudio ( a tool which I've no clue on how to use to fix that kind of problems).

I read somewhere about problem playing 10+GB files in MePo. No idea what can cousing it, but if it play in Graphstudio, SAF is working as it should.
