Re: AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

@hoborg
two questions:
1.) do you know where the difference between Cyberlink Video and Cyberlink Video / SP is?
2.) have you found out why ffdshow is unusable for german livetv? Audio/Video are too far away... even with mpaudiorenderer

I use SAF4 and decided to use ffdshow over pDVD9 due to superior vidoe quality. But, yes Audio/Video is not in sync for livetv, however it seems as though it can be fixed by just pausing for a while and then fastforward ... ?

@hoborg: BTW has anybody reported this bug to MePo team, from what I understood ffdshow should no longer be blacklisted?

That is question to tourettes. He know about it, but i have no idea if he have plan to do something about it.

I am using GB-PVR for LiveTV - GB-PVR use MS demultiplexer and there is not any a/v sync at all.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi,

I have a strange problem with my sound. I'm using SAF 5.0 *unlocked*

Sometimes my PC looses the capability to play any AC3 or DTS Sound and instead it plays strange Sounds like a loud "clicking noise". Default Stereo PCM still works fine, but each DVD, BlueRay or TV-AC3 fails. This behavior doesn't affect the Video playback.

I tried a newer SAF release and newer ATI-Driver, but the problem is still there.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the Error in a definite way.
First I thought it happens if I turn the HTPC to Standby while Sound-Playback (TV e.g) is running, and after Resume it fails, but then I stopped playback before the StandBy and it still fails on Resume.

Only I can 100% say: After a complete Reboot it works for some time - but I hate to reboot every time I want to switch to other Sound then PCM.

Is there anybody with similar Problems or an idea what goes wrong / how to fix it?

@ hoborg, is it possible for your uninstaller to restore the registry keys @
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectShow\Preferred]
instead of leaving people with broken systems after removing your product?

Well, send me original key and i will add it :)
System is not broken, decoders are chosen acording merrits.

The A/V sync issue is most likely a bug in the codec itself (majority of codecs work ok). I bet they wont just understand / like the way how TsReader modifies the timestamps. Sorry, nothing can be done on MP side - codec developers should have a look.

I do not have the original keys.
maybe it is not broken for alternate players but if you want to use WMP or MC, the user's system is broken by your software.

Now im a little bit confused. What means broken ? If I deinstall SAF - MCE or WMP will have codec errors and Win7 Codec is broken ?

Shoul not de WMP and MC using MediaFoundation instead of DirectShow???

    EDIT:
Original setting is now restored after SAF uninstall. I will post new SAF revision soon.

Not for all content, there is no MediaFoundation filters (decoders, source...) for all media types yet available by MS.
