Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

jobo1100:

Does it stutter even if you play your video directly from Graphstudio?

I have just testet and everything plays silk smooth in Graphstudio with DXVA. Even m2ts files from blurays that are unwatchable in Mediaportal. What is going on?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi together (sorry for my bad english),

i have some problems to play my blue rays (full structure rips) with the blueray handler and saf5.

if the blueray have dts audio and in ffdshow audio dts passtrough is activated the mp can't play the blueray. the mp want to start the blueray, but only a blackscreen are appear for 1 second and then the mp is back in the structure of the blueray.

when i play the blueray with the mpc-hc (directory) the blueray are played with dts sound over optical spdif.

some ideas?

Yes exactly same problem for me gunterdd!

What you can test

1) register MpaDecFilter.ax from the standalone filters of MPC-HD that you can find Media Player Classic Home Cinema (x86/x64) - XvidVideo.RU

2) In MePo configuration, Codecs and Renderer - MPC - MPA Decoder => select S/PDIF for AC3 & DTS

3) Still in MePo configuration, Codecs and Renderer, tab Video Codecs
For AAC Audio decoder you select MPC - MPA Decoder Filter

I'm using win7-64bit, saf500svn101018_msvc2008.exe and MpaDecFilter.ax from the standalone_filters-1.4.2667_x86 and it works for me to have DTS-HD Bluray in DTS but the video jerks a little (you can see it with very concentrated eyes and on travelling scenes)

There is no open source DTS decoder available, so SAF (FFDshow) decode DTS-HD to PCM then encode it to AC3 and passthrough it (if you enable passthrough).

Actually ffdshow doesnt decode DTS-HD, but instead uses the DTS core - which is same as DTS and can be pass thru directly without the decode & encode steps. Of course ffdshow might decode the DTS to be able to process (downsample etc) and then re-encode to AC3.

Is there a solution for this? Is this a known bug in FFDshow?

The problem is that with DTS passthrough activated the video with DTS-HD (Bluray iso) will not start at all. as descreibed above it flickers the screen and then stops.

I can disable DTS passthrough (DTS-HD passthrough seems to be no function?) and I get PCM stereo.
With DTS disabled I can start the movie, select the Dolby Digital audio track and get Dolby Digital passthrough to work without any problem.
I have DTS on most of my mkv HD movies and I then want to have DTS passthrough active for 95% of my movies.

If the movie just would start with DTS passthrough but with garbled sound it would not be a big problem, because easy to change to DD audiotrack.
But it's not :(

The movie also gets out of sync sometimes but a jump -15 sec or so seems to fix the problem.
I assume that my old hardware (only new is DXVA enable ATI card) has some problem to catching up with the higher data transfer from my harddrive :)
Maybe it will work better with a Bluray rom connected to SATA interface. (I only have IDE harddrive now).

That is the question for FFDshow team...

SAF 5.00 SVN20110119:
- ALL - subtitles was not enabled
- ALL - enable Indeo5 and Intel h.263 decoders

To users who trying passthrough DTS core from DTS HD - try to change DTS decoder from libavcodec to libdts - START - SAF - FFDshow - configure audio - codecs

Re : SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello ...
On my Win7x64 system, i can't play any mp4 stream with Onlinevideo (Apple movie trailers, MP4 video on youtube, ... ) : when i select the video, i see the % of caching until ~ 10%, then a blue progression bar of caching, and at the end, Mediaportal crashes
BUT if i donwload the stream (eg. apple movie trailer) , then I can read the .MOV video file (using my videos) without any problem

On another computer with exactly the same versions of mediaportal (I tried MP 1.1.1,1.1.2, 1.2alpha), plugins and codecs (last version of SAF5), BUT with Win7x32 all is fine.

The difference between this two machines (in OnlineVideo) is the splitter of MP4 files.

Do you think that my problem come from the splitter ?

Thanks

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

*.MOV files using FFDshow to play it, *.QT/*.MOVSD using QT source filter as a bridge between QT framework (QTLite) and DirectShow.
I would like to see one of your MOV sample to test it.

attaching a link to one of my smallest .mov files.

http://www.ronkramer.net/MVI_2280.MOV

Looks like your sample is corrupted. Can you ZIP it before uploading? Thanks.

Nope - not corrupted. I downloaded it to check and it runs as it should. (in VLC)
I could .zip can re-up - but not much will happen. (trying it) not any real savings. 27.2mb vs 27.9
unless you mean to be sure of proper CRC?
You either have a corrupted download or (that is the actual file).

Also my TV stream use to run pretty smooth, recently (I think since you had me uncheck those two options a short bit ago).
it stutters when first channel changing (for a while) or until I pause a few seconds and then re-start. As if it has to be cache'd first. Then plays smooth. I'm curious. I don't get any delay/buffer - how does the skip ahead cache/buffer (timeshifting) fill, if it's playing in real time? Or doesn't it?

Re: Re : Re: Re : SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hey Mardup... when I play trailers on win7 configuration of MP.
I don't see a cache/loader - mine start to play instantly. (but due to my slower 3G connection, I'm limited to small, sometimes medium playback. If I mouse down - I see the pop up blue "loader" but my medium and large+ files stutter. I can then mouse up to the top and PAUSE. but the loader then STOPS too. So it's not possible for me to PAUSE/CACHE the trailers. (is this normal)? shouldn't they load even if paused so I can eventually play them even in HD?

anyone?
