Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Did you try install MPC-HC avi splitter - there is option in SAF install for this.

I will try as soon as possible..but how I said I have no problema with earlier version of saf.

It was automatically install MPC avi splitter. Now it is selectable becouse it causing troubles.

All such AVI issues should be fixed in SAF6

BTW, if you use MKV Merge and convert AVI to MKV, there will be no problems any longer.
AVI is not very good to have two audio tracks inside...
I think it is not oficially suported by Microsoft.

Ok... with MPC-HC avi splitter I solved..

    THX:D

    Hi hoborg,
On my system sometimes when I want to see some avi that I have MP freezes when I try to stop them. It happening since I installed SVN20110315 and now with rc2 too... EDIT .. I have to kill mp with ctrl+alt+del
I tried to rollback at svn101201 (the last one before SVN20110315 that I downloaded) and now I have no problem..
I don't know if can help but you can find a 30 seconds of my avi (in double language) here:

    MEGAUPLOAD - temp.avi

    EDIT
    I have mp 1.1.2

    bye

    Hi.
Can you try this build? It should be fixed even for default avi splitter.

    Did you try both aplitters?
Post a sample, i will look.

With the MPC-Splitter this .avi does work fine (but not the mjpeg-avi). Will post sample when I'm home.

Took a whil, but here is the sample for the .avi without sound with standard-OS-Splitter. Maybe you have an idea?

Can you try this build? It should be fixed now even for default avi splitter:)

For me this build changed nothing. MP still freezes when a avi with two languages ends or stops.

And another little question: It is possible to control the volume within MP video playing with passthough enabled?
    When yes short description please.

    Thanks

I think this is only possible when stream PCM over SPDIF. When u have a Dolby Digital or DTS Stream, then you cannot change the volume.

    Hi Hoborg,
Regarding your settings for ffdshow DXVA, is there any reason why you don't put the "Compatibility mode" to "Normal"?
    Thanks

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hoborg, I updated to SAF 5rc2 a few days ago and noticed that my LFE stopped working. I'm running 8 channel analog from computer to receiver. I get LFE in windows when I run the speaker check, but don't get it in Media Portal. In ffdshow audio I'm doing what I've always done, enabled LFE crossover at 80hz and set the mixer to 8 channel and checked the LFE box. I made sure ffdshow audio was selected in Media portal config. I also tested multiple mkv files just to be sure, same problem.

Also, as a test I reinstalled SAF5 from March 4th and it's working perfect, so something has changed in FFDSHOW audio I'm guessing.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Re: SAF v5.00 - SubTitles

I've installed MP many times before, but this was almost TOO EASY :D

I have installed on an older AMD X2-Dual Core with ATI Radeon 3200
    Windows XP Pro (32bit ) SP-3
Cyberlink Power DVD 9.x (my own full version)
    Media Portal 1.1.3
    SAF 5.x (Normal) saf500rc2.exe
    - and setup MP-Config like in the first SAF5 post.

    TV Works
    DVD Rips (VIDEO_TS Folders) work
    AVIs work
    QT MOVs work

    Very nice and easy.

    Just one problem.

In DVDs and AVIs (with SRT files) there are yellow SubTitles displaying ALWAYS and I can't turn them off. If I press the yellow button on the MCE remote, the White SubTitles display (behind them) and can be turned on/off. One solution would be to have the yellow SubTitles to go away completely. If keeping the yellow ones (they do look nicer and sharper) I need to be able to control them (I don't normally use them much). Just need the best fix that will keep everything working optimally (with DXVA or whatever is best).

Make sure you dont enable subtitles durning SAF install - use MePo subtitle engine instead.
