Re: SAF v5.00 - SubTitles
Thanks. I just accepted the defaults to questions. I unchecked SubTitles in FFDShow Video Cinfig and DXVA Config. It's fixed now for AVIs (only the white MePo ones show now), but they both still show on VIDEO_TS.
Seems I have worse problems than I thought (but it sure looked good at first ... video quality and performance is fine).
Seems to be related to a certain set of AVIs for me. They play fine, but every time I stop or try to FF one, it hard locks up. I can't bring up task manager or anything. In years, I've never really seen MP lockup like this.
This is a new/clean install on an old machine (previously had MP v1.1.0 and an nVidia card). Machine is super-stable when not in MP. While adding a new HDD, I thought I would try-out the ATI-3200 IGP and clean install the latest MP. It was also the perfect time to tryout SAF for the first time.
Windows XP Pro 32 SP3
ATI CCC 10.7 (Driver 8.753)
PowerDVD 9 Deluxe
Media Portal 1.1.3
- Using Default Blue Skin and No Plugins
SAF 5.x RC2
I don't know if it's MP 1.1.3 or SAF ... but nothing else is installed. The only way I know to figure it out would be to Re-Image the C: drive back before I installed SAF-5 ... and follow Goose's Codec Setup Doc instead (the manual way I usually do it) ... uses Haali, FFDShow, VSFilter, QT-Lite ... and re-test eveyrthing.
I've installed MP many times before, but this was almost TOO EASY
I have installed on an older AMD X2-Dual Core with ATI Radeon 3200
Windows XP Pro (32bit ) SP-3
Cyberlink Power DVD 9.x (my own full version)
Media Portal 1.1.3
SAF 5.x (Normal) saf500rc2.exe
- and setup MP-Config like in the first SAF5 post.
TV Works
DVD Rips (VIDEO_TS Folders) work
AVIs work
QT MOVs work
Very nice and easy.
Just one problem.
In DVDs and AVIs (with SRT files) there are yellow SubTitles displaying ALWAYS and I can't turn them off. If I press the yellow button on the MCE remote, the White SubTitles display (behind them) and can be turned on/off. One solution would be to have the yellow SubTitles to go away completely. If keeping the yellow ones (they do look nicer and sharper) I need to be able to control them (I don't normally use them much). Just need the best fix that will keep everything working optimally (with DXVA or whatever is best).
Make sure you dont enable subtitles durning SAF install - use MePo subtitle engine instead.
