Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

mpls? That is BlueRay format? Are sure this video is decrypted?

I am still waiting for any video sample to reproduce your issue...

BTW, did you tryed simply remux your MKV with latest MKVmerge (without splitting)?
Tell me how to make a sample. when i use MKVmerge the sample plays but the whole movie doesn't

Then try to remux whole movie withou splitting in latest MKVmerge :)
Then the movie also playes.. but why not without remuxing? with saf 4.00 it plays normal without remuxing

Maybe this was answered earlier, so I appologize in advance if it was....

What is the difference between the pdvd 10 video decoder and the other one that's listed as pdvd 10 sp/video decoder?

Also I just want to say I noticed a HUGE video quality increase with this version over saf 4.0. Excellent job, and thanks for your hard work on this!

Thanks.
SP version is for DVD decoding.

Good, now you known how to fix it.
SAF 4 using diferent splitters (haali), SAF 5 using MPC-HC ones.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Hoborg: I tried to find a solution in the forums but did not find how to play video's from iphone. They are mov format but MP just hangs on them. Using SAF version 4.00 beta 22. But 5.00 a few weeks ago did not help either. Is this new to you, should it be working in 5.00?

You need to have QT alternative installed + SAF *unlocked*.
If MOV doesnot play, rename *.MOV to *.MOVSD and try again.

That did the trick thanks! Had to rename them to "movsd" to get it all working. Now have to get rid of the "medialooks" logo :)

Try today SAF build - saf500svn100505.exe :D

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I have problem with installation (latest version). It seems that for some reason, the avi splitter is not installed at all (I can't find avisplitter.ax from my computer). SAF install logs are attached as zipped 7z file.

I first uninstalled older SAF 5 and haali media splitter. Then rebooted and installed saf500svn100505.exe and rebooted.

When trying to open a avi-file (xvid, mp3-audio) with GraphStudio, I got a "Cannot open file" dialog.

AVI-files work when using MPC-HC. The graph shows that quartz.dll is utilized as an avi splitter.

Any ideas? I know everything will work if I install the Haali splitter...

Avi splitter is not part of SAF for some time now. Looks like system default avi splitter is most compatible one.
Does your sample works in Graphstudio?
If you mux avi in to mkv - does your video works? Can you provide small avi sample to test (all samples i have working just fine).

So if SAF doesn't contain any avi splitter or avi file source filters, the problem is not in the SAF itself. It seems that SAF installer cannot determine the true functional state of avi splitter and source filter in all cases. As I said, I first uninstalled older SAF and haali splitter, then installed the new SAF. At this point, no one of my avi files (including normal 350 MB tv series avis) did work in Graphstudio ("cannot open file") so I think there is no point providing a sample. Somehow the system default avi splitter (quartz.dll?) is not utilized at the moment.

I reinstalled latest Haali splitter (for avi also) and now I can play every avi file I have in Graphstudio and in MePo. Should I be happy with the Haali splitter, or is there better options like MPC - Avi splitter / source filters? Do you have any recommendations which avi splitter to choose?

Strange.
I cannot recomend any of them both have issues with certain avis.
