AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Does the automatic presettings of ffdshow need a rebuild of the graph, or are they switchable "on the fly"?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've installed SAF 5.00 and have been able to get DXVA working with MKV files, but not with Blu-ray iso or m2ts files. How do I get MPC-HC to use ffdshow DXVA instead of WMVideo Decoder DMO?

You can't if source video is VC-1i (interlaced).

How can I determine if the video is VC-1i? Mediainfo just shows it at VC-1

    Code:
    Video
    ID : 4113 (0x1011)
    Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
    Format : VC-1
    Format profile : AP@L3
    Duration : 2h 50mn
    Width : 1 920 pixels
    Height : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 16:9
    Frame rate : 23.976 fps
    Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Scan type : Progressive

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hello

    I installed saf500svn100512 and MediaPortalSetup_1.1.0_RC-2_rev25546 on Vista.
When i want to play an h264 the video starts. But only 2 oder 3 seconds then it stops and iam back in mediaportal. On HDTV i have the same problem.

When i switch the decoder from ffdshow DXVA to ffdshow video the video plays.

    I use a HD4200 oboard.

Just bevor the upate i use MP1.1 RC1 and SAF4.00 there wont be any problems. Anyone an idea?
If you need some logs please tell me wich one you need.

    Thanks!

How can be MS DMO decoder in use if you disable it ?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi!

To have Dolby Digital 5.1 over HDMI on my AV receiver, I have to enable "AC3 (S/PDIF encode Mode)" in ffdshow Audio. I also enabled all Pass-through options. If I uncheck "AC3 (S/PDIF encode Mode)" and switch to the AC3 channel in MePo the program will terminate.

For playing blu rays with Dolby TrueHD, I don't need to check this box - it works without. So, I wonder why I must enable this encoding box, because AC3 passthrough should just do the thing - without encoding, or not? Just want to make sure, that there is no decoding and encoding happening.

    Does anyone have an answer?

    Kind regards,
    --Alex

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi,
I'm having a little trouble playing SD (xvid/divx) files properly. Once in a while the video will freeze for ~5 seconds while the audio continues. The pictures actually jumps ahead ~5 seconds and waits for the audio to catch up and then continues...
I've tried using both the ffdshow video decoder and the cyberlink decoder. Is it possible to create some kind of log?
HD vidoes plays ok. (Although not at fluently as I'd hoped. I might try the cyberlink for that too instead of ffdshow dxva)

    :D
