Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I use TOSLINK to the receiver, so audio passthrough to SPDIF is indeed enabled. Can you confirm that the sample is mapping to the default (as opposed to the xMP4@50) preset in your setup.

Just for test, try to disable passthrough.

Tried minus passthrough, no difference. I'm out of ideas on what to try next. Is there a logfile and/or debuging dll that I could use to get at more information?

Hi Hoborg,

Can i have some problem with SAF?

Thanks

PDVD decoders FINALLY working for me too on Win7 64bit :) :) :)

I hope it stays that way as I've only had them in for a few hours...

@ Hoborg (or anyone else with sound advice!):

I am completely new to this, so please bear with me.
Thanks in advance for this package, as it seems to be a lot of work and upkeep!

I am about to install the latest SAF (101201).
    I have the following setup:
    1) Windows 7 (64 bit)
    2) i5-760 CPU
    3) nVidia gt-430 (HDMI with HD-audio bitstreaming capability)
    4) TMT3 installed, but no other additional codecs or codec packs
    5) PC is hooked up via HDMI to an Onkyo HT-RC260 receiver (with all the HD-audio decoding capabilities)

I want to bitstream everything (DD, DTS, DTS-HD Master, TrueHD, etc.) from within Media Portal.
I assume I will start backing-up my BluRays to M2TS or MKV single files (unless there is a better solution?).
As of now, I am having MePo pull up TMT3 for my existing M2TS and MKV files (they have AC3 audio only).
(For these, TMT3 currently down-mixes from AC3 5.1 to 2-channel PCM over HDMI to the receiver ).
Now I will start getting into HD-audio and need a solution for everything.

Here are some quesitons I have before I start:
    A) Do I have to worry about the TMT3 software or codecs (either causing conflicts or being disabled)?
    B) For my Audio Renderer, should I register the one from Arcsoft TMT3 or use the default system one?
    C) Could I ask why your guide in the first post doesn't show the renderer being used (just curious).

Thanks, and please accept my appologies if these are dumb questions.

Thanks hoborg, sorry to bother you.
Is there anyone else with a similar setup that could provide some input?
I want to make sure I get this right the first time, instead of piling on codecs and choking my clean install.

    Thanks for the link hoborg.
This brings a question that you may be able to help me with (even though you don't have a receiver).
The Doom9 info is pretty much saying to use FFDShow Tryout with MPC-HC for the mpeg splitter and standalone filters.
Isn't that exactly what SAF would do for me?
    Would there be any differences?

    Thanks again for your help,
    Cook
