Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

hmm I'll keep playing with it and tweaking. My .MOV's play the same (installing QTlite didn't change anything). The mov's play but the sound is like BORG.

You need to rename them to *.MOVSD or *.QT

AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Thanks for the Update,

the Dolby decoder works again !!If I connect as PCM first select

I had some questions about the ffdshow audio codec:.

1: What's the difference : Enable - Encode 5.1 streams only and Disabled - Encode 5.1 streams only ? Encodes the 5.1 stream not my AV receiver?

2: What does this have on the PCM itself? : If I select "connect as PCM first" I have no more control on my receiver, the display shows only straight and it is only stereo.
but if i disable "connect as PCM first" I can simulate the stereo sound with my receiver in 5.1 sound and have full control over my receiver !!

What is the disadvantage of this option before or ? I'm sacrificing quality in the Sound ?

Renamed to .QT - added .QT extension to my video extensions.
Sound now plays properly - picture is black.

Outside of MP - they play fine in windows media player.
    puzzled.

You need to test it in Graphstudio (START, SAF, tools - Graphstudio)

Enable 5.1 olny - only 5.1 streams will be encoded to AC3, disable - all will be encoded to AC3

connect as PCM first - some recievers need this option enabled.

Graphstudio - shows QT video in. Audio to FFdshow audiod ecoder in and out to directsound dev.

Video into EVR input (enhanced video renderer) then now output from that box in the flow chart.
clicking "PLAY" button in graph studio does play it.

just enhanced video renderer has no output device.
    I'll attach the flow chart.

Hey Hoborg - just noticed you posts say "Amiga emulation" - I use to have 3-4 amiga's and a video toaster. I use to run a lightwave bbs. You still doing Amiga anything?

    captureqt.jpg

My .m2ts files use to run before FAS5 install - now lock up - graph studio charts them like (below) but when I click the play icon it also locked up.

    Both graphs are correct.
MOV - can you post me small video sample to test?
m2ts - what is inside your m2ts - h.264 or VC-1? try disable DxVA - START - SAF - FFDshow - configure FDDShow DxVA decoder - here uncheck h.264 and VC-1 and try again.

About Amiga - i created easy emulator solution to play Amiga games on PC, just click on icon to play it. This project is known as WHA and it is about 10 years since started working on it :)

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

m2ts - what is inside your m2ts - h.264 or VC-1? try disable DxVA - START - SAF - FFDshow - configure FDDShow DxVA decoder - here uncheck h.264 and VC-1 and try again.

    clicked DXVA OFF
    in ffdshow config
    Untoggled.

Sound of .mov (.QT) is ok, video plays but keeps pausing (speed typically isn't any issue with these on this machine).

    My .m2ts files now play.

Toggling those options again... turning on DXVA
    trying same files.

    oops - m2ts - crashed MP again.
    restarting to try .QT file
audio works - Video very jerky.

    Once again confirming.
    clicking DXVA OFF
ffdshow - DXVA conf - toggling off H264 and CV1

    Re-starting Mp - trying same 2 files.
(what will I lose by turning those off?)

my .QT same (audio fine, video sticks every couple seconds.

.m2ts work fine. (so leave those off?)

So last problems - .mov play fine (audio garbeled)
rename to .QT audio is fine, but video stutters.

FLOPPIES (well my point was) I've had emulators before - and well - never could use them, because how do we get the program off the amiga format floppy to PC?
Well - no worries as I don't plan to try. (Rather outdated those games). ;-)
