Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Looks like you GPU is not powerfull enought for "Surface overlay" (subtitles rendering). Even my ATI 5450 doing this without any problem.
VC-1 DxVA id disabled by default, becouse it doesn't support interlaced VC-1. You can enable it, but you will have black screen on interlaced VC-1.

Thanks Hoborg. My GPU is a 9600GT, you are probably right regarding it's perf.
So the "Surface overly" is for subtitles only?

Yes, it overlay subtitles + video to one frame durning DxVA decoding, but this need a lot of GPU<->RAM movements.
Surface overly is enabled if you enable subtitles durning SAF install.

Surface overly is enabled if you enable subtitles durning SAF install.
Probably it was changed a few versions ago, but all the time I used to install SAF5 with disabled subtitles, I had to disable Surface overlay later manually in FFDSHOW config itself. Isn't it always enabled?

You are right, thanks for report! (i always use subtitles, so i missed that).
I will fix it in RC1.

Yes, this is exactly what I did, I enabled subtitles during the install. Thanks for the explanations.
Regarding VC1, I enabled it in ffdshow DXVA but it still ffdshow that is used. If I set VC1 to "Disable" in ffdshow, I have Microsoft ...DMO that runs the VC1. If I set it up to "wm9" or "libacodec" it's ffdshow that runs.
Do you know what can i do?
Thanks

If your video is in M2TS - there is an option in splitter set to Cyberlink (and ffdshow). Try chenge it to default.
For MKV - no idea, right now, i don't have any MKV with VC-1 inside.

Sorry Hoborg, but how I "edit" the splitter?

Open video in graphstudio and double click on splitter.

AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Just a short feedback: Using default AVI Splitter seems to work great. No other problems so far and my mjpeg-files work great! Thanks for your work.

Now I have a few .avi's (should be divx) where I have no sound. Will provide a sample later...maybe you can find a way to work out this too?!
