Hi Tesla,

I know, my Amp also has a function to convert the DD stereo signal to 5.1 (PLIIX), but then I have to use the remote to switch this function on everytime again, when the input signal has changed from 5.1 to 2.0. Apparently, the Amp is not doing this automatically.

While that is the defaulted operation on my Onkyo amp. as well ... you can ALSO pre-program the amp. to react in a definitive way for each of the various formats it receives. Additionally, it can be set differently per. input.

system32 access windows7

Had a botched install when updating to 5.0 final. Win7 wouldnt let me write to the system32 folder. So I uninstalled and rebooted, worked fine. I think TVServer or something was running in the background on the first install and so had locked some of the dlls or ax files or something. Dont bother trying to change access permissions, just make sure the files in sys32 to be replaced are not being used. Hope this helps someone who has the same probs as me... And thanks HEAPS hoborg, its a great and well polished package...

i've installed v5 now, but i got a problem. When I play Videos the screen is black but the sound is playing.

downgrading to v4 everything works like it should.

Here a some Log files, i hope there is a solution. I tried both video codecs.

I ran into that same problem (audio but no video) with:
XP Pro 32 SP3
Gigabyte MB with on-board ATI-3200
I was using all the official (fairly current) Gigabyte drivers.

Turns out it didn't have anything to do with SAF or MP (I know because I tried a manual Splitter and FFDShow install ... which did the same thing). Uninstalled ATI driver v 8.641 (CCC v9.8) and installed ATI CCC 10.7 ... works fine now.

Hi Hoborg,
I just installed SAF 5 codec package, set according to your instruction on 1st page and have problem with playing some videos, e.g. TBBT episodes, which are SD, XVID, MPEG3 are stuttering, very high CPU usage when playing in MP1.1.2. With prev. SAF 4 there was no problem. When playing in MPC-HC everything goes well. Also in graphstudio there is no problem. Can you or someone other help me please?

I upgraded to SAF5.0 final and I am experiencing the same issues on HD channels now. Somtimes they tune with sound but no picture. I will try to downgrade to SAF RC1 or RC2 to see if it is indeed SAF causing problems.

Did you check with graphstudio what codec are loaded?

Could you just confirm. Final saf5 was released on 1st of april. There was a prank in there again with the eyes I read somewhere. Is the same version still present in download folder? Or is it the TRUE final one?
