Hi Hoborg,

I tested and compared PDVD11 codec to MS DTV codec with HD liveTV and I think MS DTV is better.
MS DTV is faster, when I turn on liveTV. With PDVD codec I have about 2 secs of black until the picture is there.
MS DTV is more robust when there is a weak signal or some other kind of disturbance. After some pixelation showing up, the picture is normal again. With PDVD codec, the pixelation sometimes does not stop and I hav to go back with timeshifting a few secs.
Picture quality is roughly the same.
What do you think about that?
Would you recomment MS DTV codec over PDVD codec?

What i can say? Not all have Win7, so PDVD is good one.
If MS decoder working better for you, then use it.

i'm reading your spec and i see vga intel......

try pdvd with a "real" vga ati or nvidia ..then you will change your mind

maybe you find pdvd slow in starting becuse of your lack of video power

here on 3 clients: ati 5770 , ion e nvidia quadro (on notebook i don't know what quadro), pdvd give me better quality, smooth decoding and immediate start of tv or channel change

Hi,
for two days ago i installed the SAF 6 on my HTPC. Since then at some HDTV 720p files i get no sound. I think its because of the fddshow codec. Before i installed the SAF 6 i used only the POWERDVD10 codecs for HD playback and it works fine. So how i can solve this problem? Another hugh problem is, that after the uninstallation of SAF 6 i could't play any HD material i get some ACC und DTS errors.
Please help!

What decoder do you using for audio? FFDshow audio decoder is disabled by default durning SAF install, LAV audio decoder is used instead.
Are you using audio passthrough?
You can open your not working video in graphstudio and look for source of problem.

i tried to open some .mkv episodes with graphstudio but it just makes an error "cant open media". Normal .wmv, wma files works fine. Where is the problem?

Can you post small sample? Use MKV Merge to split.

hi i am using the latest relase can you tell me if it supports hd-dvd iso playback, i was told that it was a codec problem that i couldn't play it

I never tried hd-dvd iso, but it works fine with the hd-dvd disc’s i have.
It should work with pdvd11 and Lav-video, in Lav-video you have to enable VC1.
