VC-1 DXVA is not supported very well.
What CPU do you have?
Can you cut small sample and send it here? You can use MKVMerge for this.

It's a Pentium G620T CPU.
You can find a Sample here.
I got some more VC-1 files and none of them works. They all crash with the same error.

Thanks for sample.
I can confirm the crash. Loosk like the problem is in FFDshow, it is working fine with LAV Video decoder - no stutering at all here, maybe your CPU is to slow to play this FullHD video?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this problem, but I'll try.

I just installed v6.02 instead of my old v4, and I uninstalled v4 before installing v6.02. The reason why I went with the newer version, is that I wanted to try and see if I could get better sound through my amplifier, using "PURE DIRECT" selection on it. Amp i a Pioneer VSX-921, and it's hooked up through hdmi via my tv (Panasonic VT20) But now I don't get any sound from one of my movies, which is a .MKV file, how come that is? Do I need anything else, or adjust some settings in ffdshow?

Without DXVA it may be too slow.
I just keep in mind not to use those VC-1 rips.

Re: AW: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

Hello,

unfortunately i'm not able to playback VC1 mkv files with SAF6.
when i check "VC1 DXVA" in ffdshow configuration the playback crashes with this:
Error

without checking "VC1 DXVA" playback is possible but with massive stuttering.

i opened the file in graphstudio. everything seems to be fine there but also no playback possible.
GraphStudio

any idea?

edit: vga card is a radeon hd 5450.

greetings.

Hi.
The crash should be fixed in next SAF.
Thanks for report!

The first post talks about unlocked vs locked but I can't see any explanation of what "unlocking" is or how to do it??

    greetings.

Can you try this test build?
BTW, if you want to use FFDShow DXVA for VC-1p decoding, you need to disable VC-1 timestamp correction in LAV splitter setting.

AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

@Hoborg: Shoudn't the TMT decoder be included into SAF, when this currently is the only possibility to get dts-hd-hr right to work??

How is the dtsdecoder.dll used- just be unticking the bitstream checkboxes in the lav audio configuration, or do I have to do something more?
You have to drop the dtsdecoderdll.dll from TMT3/5 Codecs directory into Lav directory, but i don’t use SAF right now so i don’t know where that would be.
So i think Hoborg have to answer on that, maybe it’s already included in the unlooked SAF :)
And dtsdecoderdll.dll 1.1.0.0 won’t work, i have tested 1.1.0.1, 1.1.0.5, 1.1.0.7, 1.1.0.8 and they work, but the latest is probably the best!

You can check if it’s working with MPC-HC, Filters -> Lav Audio Decoder -> status.
If the input Codec is dts-hd hra its working, if it says dca its not.

    @alexirion:
I cannot redistribute comercial software. That is why there are *locked* and *unlocked* SAF, BTW :)

    Hi Hoborg,
what are the differences between the "200_MPEG-2 SD (DVD/LiveTV)Local" profile and the "210_MPEG-2 HD (LiveTV/Local)" in ffdshow video decoder config?
    I seem to be identical

    Thanks
HD have deinterlacing option. There was some problems with MPEG-2 HD files on some systems (hi CPU usage), so i created two profiles.
But if your MPEG-2 files playing correctly, there is no need to worry about that :)

Thanks, but the deinterlacing filter is not checked by default. Is OK?
