I have some problems with very few videos that won't play with the ffdshow DXVA Video Decoder. If I change the setting of the H.264 Video decoder to fddshow, everything works fine.

I don't really know much about the decoders, so I'd like to ask if there are any significant differences between the two or if I can stay with ffdshow instead of the DXVA option.

Thanks!

Re: AW: SAF v6 (based on LAVF)

VC-1i playback dosn't work with SAF 6.03 (Cyberlink Codec) any more.
    Can anybody confirm this?

    also with 6.02....

is it possible to revert back behavior like old 6.0 ?

    I use SAF 6.0.3 with MP 1.1.3.
When I try to play MTS files, only is listened, no video.
If I rename to M2TS, it works fine.

Is there a solution for this?

    TIA

That is a bug in MePo. If your file is named mts, mepo will add video decoder from MPEG-2 decoder MePo setting into graph even if video have h.264 inside. There is nothing i can do. If you open your video in graphstudio, it will play OK.
You can found this problem already reported on this thread.

    Issues! :(
I had my system going good for about a week or 2 then it broke. I tried a reformat and am having codec (i hope) issues still. I have tried using lav and ffdshow audio and lav and ffdshow for video.
It will play for anywhere from 1-10 minutes and then start to go super choppy (audio and video) or the video will stop while audio goes.
I moved a file from server to HTPC and same results
I tested network bandwidth and got a steady 80mB/s
    CPU- Intel g620t
    Ram- 2x2gb DDR3
    HDD- OCZ 32gb SSD
    Windows 7 x86
    Mepo 1.2
    720p tv

    Hi.
    Test your file in Graphstudio.
And check background system activity too while stuttering begin.

    Hi!
I'm using SAF since early version 5, and I'm satisfied with it. I have an ATI4200HD GPU that should be fine for HD playback (it is, no problems up to now). I'm using Windows7 and the latest MP.
Some time ago we were discussing which codec should be used for live TV (SD and especially HD channels). Many of you suggested MS native codec for video and FFDshow/LAVF for audio. Isn't better to use Cybelink 11 codec for this? What are the pros and contras?
For mkv 720p I'm using ffdshow dxva.
    Thanks!

For TV use PDVD or MS one.

Yes, I know, but which one should be better? What are the advantages of PDVD 11 over MS and vice versa?:D
