ok a short update - I got it working now!

Like I mentioned above, wenn I install Saf v6 opening movies takes ages.
Uninstalled saf v6 installed lav 0.44.
First i had only pcm sound - but the reason for this was very simple....
In lav audio configuration the dts dts-hd boxes were not checke .-)

NOw it runs all smooth ! very fast.
I dont know why saf v6 slows file opening down that much
I also installed ffdshow tryouts but i dont use this, I just did this for testing if I get DTS sound or no....

I use the lavf for audio and video decoding now.

Only idea i have right now is that FFDshow video decoder causing this...

That could be a reason because - when I had this problem with the slow opening of files I also had picture problems - i.e. there was green stripes and blocks in the picture and kinda distortion also.
Some movies had green stripes all over the picture and U hardly could recognize the movie - this also is gone now.

Glad you got it working. Just want to make a note....

It's actually not SAF v6 itself that slows down the opening of movies. It seems to be the FFDShow video decoder. The LAV video decoder can be installed by SAF if you just select it when installing, just like hoborg pointed out earlier.

I think i found the reason why 10-bit videos was crashing FFDshow - here is SAF 6.0.5 a test build, it should be fixed now.

- fixed 10-bit decoding crash

Latest 4240 revision of ffdshow also has something about 10-bit and crash in the log:

LAV Video Decoder never was, that was "LAV CUVID Decoder".
